       of maidstone James Bell   On the Back of the aforegoing conveyance is thus
       indorst Viz.t May the 14.th

       rec.d of Sam.ll Chew of Maidstone one hundred pounds sterl by bills
       of ex.a on acc.ts of Sam.ll Chew jun.r party to the w.thin deed it being the
       corsedrection therein expressed John Tanehill

       October the 3.d 1717   Memorandom   that the within written
       Indenture with the Lands and pmisses therein mentioned was
       Acknowledged by Thomas Smith attorney of the w.thin named
       John Tanehill and pursuant to the authority by him given
       To be the right of the w.thin named Sam.ll Chew jun.r and his heirs
       for ever pursuant to an act of Assembly in that case made
       and provided before me                        William Holland

Carolina fs   Know all men by these presents that I John Tanehill
x.d Late of the province of Maryland Planter for Divers good
       causes and consideracons me thereunto moving have Bargained
       and sold for the Valueable Consideration of one hundred pounds
       sterl mony of Great Brittain by bills of exchange the rec.t of
       which I do acknowledge my self therew.th to be fully satisfyed
       content & paid) all that tract or percell of Land called and
       known by the name of Cooper (Latly Decended to me by the
       Death of my brother Andrew Tanehill Lying and being in Calvert
       County in the province of Maryland containing by estimation
       two hundred acres be it more or Less scituate between &
       bounded by the Land of Sam.ll Chew on the east by the Lands of
       John Whipps and Sam.ll Griffeth on the north by the Lands of
       Thomas Smth and Robert Bradley on the west and the Lands
       of part of Bradleys and the Land of Hall on the south unto
       Sam.ll Chew jun.r his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and Assignes and do hereby
       Nominate Constitute and Appoint my Trusty and well beloved
