       and the person appointed to the said employment be
       approved by the said commissioners the respective governours
       are to be answerable for any the offences Neglects or
       Misdemeanours of the person so appointed

       Carroll Esq.r who is appointed Navall officer in the province
       of Maryland hath given us suff.t security for his Maj.tys
       use for the true and faithfull performance of his Duty &
       is approvd by us the said commissioners Given under
       our hands & seale this sixteenth day of Aprill in y.e
       second year of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord

Josiah Wilson of the County of Prince George in the province
       of Maryland Gent of the One partie and
       William Kidd of Calvert County in the said Province
       of the other partie Wittnesseth that whereas
       the said William Kidd upon the fifth day of July
       Annoq Dom one thousand seven hundred and three
       had surveyed and Layd out for him a certaine tract
       or parcell of Land Lyeing in Charles County called
       black oake thickett Begining at a Bounded Red
       Oake saplin standing in a forke of Fradsham
       Creeke and Runing thence south for Two hundred
