       Concerned or owing such moneys effects and bills of exchange and
       generally to act doe and performe fullfill and accomplish all &
       every other Act and Acts Thing and Things requisite and necessary
       for the due execution performance and Justly Dischargeing the
       severall Respective offices powers and authorities hereby Given &
       Granted him or intended to be given and Granted him And
       Wee do hereby ratifie confirme & hold for good effectuall and
       Valid Whatsoever the said Charles Carroll shall Lawfully doe or
       cause to be done in the premisses Notwithstanding any Insufficiency
       or defect in the words expressions clauses ^or^ and sentences of this our
       Commission and although every particular Matter strictly requisite
       be not therein particularly menconed and expressed And wee
       Doe further hereby for a Compensation Sallary and Encouragm.t
       to the said Charles Carroll for the punctuall sincere and
       faithfull performance of the powers and authorities hereby
       Granted him and in Consideration of the Pains Labour and
       Trouble ^he^ shall take in the due execution thereof authorize direct
       and empower him to take receive and retain to and for his own
       use out of all such Monys Tobaccoes or other effects as shall
       be received on any of the Accounts afd (except for the duties
       ariseing by the Exportation of Tobacco being two shillings
       and nine pence p hoggshead and the Dutys ariseing
       p The Tunnage on ships being fourteen pence p Tonn)
       the sume of ten pounds in the hundred and so prorato for
       a greater or Lesser Quantity (over and above the sallarys
       soe as afd to be allowed his officers and for receiveing and
       remitting the said two and nine pence p hoggshead and
       fourteen pence p Tonn the sume of one hundred pounds sterl
       yearly  And wee doe hereby revoake annull and make
       void all former and other commissions powers and
       authorities touching the Premisses by us or our Authorities
