          This Indenture made this first day of September one
       thousand seven hundred and fifteen Between William Dowglass
       of Cecill County Gentl of the one part and Charles Carroll of the
       City of Annapolis Esq of the other part Wittnesseth that the said
       W.m for and in consid.n of the sum of forty Nine Pounds four
       shill ster to him in hand paid or secured to be paid at and before
       the ensealing and delivery hereof by by the said Charles Carroll
       the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof
       doth acquit and discharge him the s.d Charles his heirs ex.rs and
       adm.rs by these presents hath Given Granted bargained Sold
       aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth for
       him & his heirs Give Grant bargain sell alien enfeoffe and
       confirm unto him the said Charles all that tract or parcell
       of land lying in the said County called Vulcanrest Granted me
       by pat.t the tenth day of December one thousand Seven hundred
       and fourteen for five hundred twenty and two acres togeather w.th
       all and singular the rights members and appurtenances
       thereunto belonging  To have and to hold the same unto him
       the said Charles Carroll his heirs and assignes for ever to and
       for the only proper use and behoof of him the s.d Charles his
       heirs and assignes and to no other use intent or purpose
       whatsoever  And the said W.m doth hereby for him and his
       heirs covenant promise Grant and agree to and w.th him
       the said Charles and his heirs that the s.d tract of land is clear
       of all Manner of Incumbrances and that the same ag.t all
       Manner of persons he will for ever warr.t and defend unto
       him the said Charles his heirs and Assignes by these presents
       Provided always and it is the true intent and meaning
       of these presents that if the said W.m his heirs ex.rs or adm.rs
       shall at or upon the first day of March next pay or cause
       to be paid unto the above named Charles his ex.rs adm.rs or
       assignes the sd sum of forty nine pounds four shill sterl
       with six months lawfull interest thereon that there this
       deed is to be voyd and of no effect otherwise to remain in full
       force and Virtue In Testimony whereof the s.d parties have
       hereunto sett their hands and seals the day & year above
       written                                             W.m Douglas   (Sea)

             Att y.e foot of w.ch deed was thus written
       Notwithstanding the time of Paym.t of the Consid.n
       mony in his deed menconed is limitted to six Months it
       is hereby declared that twelve months Longer is allowed the said W.m to Pay the
       same with lawfull Interest
