       by devise from his aunt Ann Lynes deced and
       the Said Mary wife of the said Philemon being
       privately and out of the hearing of her said
       husband examined by me declared that she
       signed sealed and delivered the within deed
       and made the above acknowledgment of her
       own free accord and will and was in noe ways
       thereto Induced by her said husband (except as

       July in the Twelfth yeare of the Reigne of our
       Sovereigne Lady Anne by the grace of God of
       of Great Brittain France and Ireland Queen defend.r
       of the Faith &c in the year of our Lord Christ
       seventeen hundred and thirteen Between
       Robert Brooke of Calvert County in the the
       Province of Maryland planter of the one part
       and Arden Carleton of the Citty of London Merch.ts
       of the other parte Wittnesseth that whereas the
       said Robert Brooke for and in Consideration that
       the Said Arden Carlton at the Speciall Instance &
       request of him the said Robert Brooke hath
       undertaken and Secured to satisfie and pay all
       such bills of exchange as the said Robert Brookes
       shall draw on the Said Arden Carlton not exceeding
       the sume of one hundred & sixty five pounds sterl
       according to the tennor and Effect of such bills
       Hath bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and
