157 This Indenture made this Twenty fourth day of May in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and Tenn Between Stephen Gill of annarundell County planter of the one part and Charles Carroll of the same County Gent of the other part Wittness that the said Stephen for and Consideration of the sume of thirty four p.ds ten shill and five pence half penny ster to him in hand paid by the s.d Charles the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge Hath Given granted bargained sold and assigned over unto the said Charles Carroll All that tract or pcell of Land called Browns Chance lying on the south side of Annarund.ll or seaven River Begining at a bound white oake in the north north west Line of R.d Wharfeild and Runing with the said Lease Line north north west one hund.d sixty and two ps to a bounded Red oake of Jonas pierpoints then with the said pairpoints line west and by south ninety six perches then south and by east one hundred Twenty and six per to a bounded white oake of Edw.d Gardners then east three deg.rs south one hundred thirty and Two per to the first bounded white oake Containing and Laid out for ninety Eight acres of Land Togeather w.th five Cows three heffers four yearlings and one young Calf one two yeare old steear Twenty head of hoggs and one Mar & Colt To have & to hold the said Land and Cattle hoggs mare and Colt to him the said Charles his heirs and assignes for ever All which said Stephen doth for him and his heires warrant against all psons whatsoever to be Clear of all manner of Incumbrances whatsoever Provided allways and it is the true Intent and meaning of these presents that if he the said Stephen his heires ex.rs or adm.rs shall well & truly pay or Cause to be paid the one moyety or half part of the aboves.d sum of at or upon the tenth day of Aprill next w.ch shall be in the yeare of our Lord seventeen hundred & Eleven and the other moyety the tenth day of Aprill seventeen hund.d & twelve that then this deed and every Clause therein and the Estate thereby given shall cease and determine In Wittness whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seales the day & yeare first above Written his Signed sealed and delivered Stephen S Gill (Seale) in the psence of us mark Job Evans On the back of the aforegoing deed was endorsed as foll Viz.t Geo Wells To M.r Wornell Hunt or any of the atturneys of Nich Jacob Anne Arundle County Courte These are to authorize & Impower you or any of You to Acknowledge the within deed for me and in my name according to act of Assembly in that Case made & pvided & for your so doing this shall be your warr.t Given under my hand and seale this 24.th day of May 1710 Wittness psent his Job Evans Stephen S Gill (Seale) Nich Jacob June the 2.d 1710 Then Came before me Philemon Lloyd one of her maj.tys Justices of the prov.ll Court the abovenamed Wornell Hunt and acknowledged 533 the within deed according to act of Assembly in that Case made & provided as wittness my hand Phile Lloyd |
