719 To all Christian People to whom this present writing shall come to be seen read or heard Greeting in our Lord God Everlasting Know Yee that I Thomas Stockett of the County of Ann Arundell in the province of Maryland Gent for a valuable consideration already recd by me of M.r Richard Smethers of the County of Baltemore & province afd Gent before the Ensigning & delivery of these p.rsents Whereby I do acknowledge my self fully satisfied & paid And thereof & of every part & pcell thereof do clearly acquitt exonerate & discharge the said Richard Smethers his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assigns by these p.rsents Have granted Bargaind alienated Enfeoffed & sold And do by these p.rsents fully Clearly & absolutely Grant Bargaine alienate Enfeoffe Sell & deliver unto the aboves.d M.r Richard Smethers his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assigns all that tract of Land comonly called by the name of Bowen being formerly taken up by my father M.r Thomas Stockett & by him since left to sue Thomas Stockett Junior And at this time having full power good right & authority to dispose of the same it lying & being on the West side of Cheasapeake Bay between Swan Creek & susquehanna river Beginning at a locust standing on a point at the North side of a small Creek called by the name of Bowens Creek running up along the said Bay for breadth North East & by North two hundred pches unto a Chesnutt tree standing on a point by a branch called by the name of Bowens Branch by a line drawne from the said Chesnutt Oake North North West for length three hundred & twenty Pches from the North North West line by a line drawn South West & by South two hundred Pches from the South West & by South line by a line drawn South south East unto the first marked Locust three hundred & twenty Pches Cont & now laid out for four hundred acres more or less Together with all rights profitts & benefitts thereunto belonging To have & to hold all & singular the p.rmises hereby granted bargaind or sold or mentiond to be herein or hereby granted Bargaind & sold with their & every of their Rights members & priviledges whatsoever unto the said M.r Richard Smethers his heires & assigns Ex.rs adm.rs or assigns for ever ag.t me the said Thomas Stockett his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assigns & all & every other person or psons whatsoever lawfully claiming or under me And farther I the said Thomas Stockett do from me my heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or assigns Covenant promise grant & agree to & with the said Richard Smethers his heires Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assigns by these p.rsents that he or they shall or may by vertue of these p.rsents from time to time & at all times peaceably & quietly hold use occupy & enjoy all & singular the afd p.rmisses with all the priviledge thereunto belonging without any Lett trouble or disturbance of me the said Thomas Stockett |
