718 Memd That on this 21.st day of August 1703 M.r James Lewis & M.r Leonard Wayman at the request of W.m Bateman & Thomas Gassaway Came upon a certain Tract of Land belonging to the said Bateman called poplar Ridge Adjoyning to a Tract of Land belonging to the said Gassaway Called the Gardens Care In order to give relation of the Ancient meets & bounds of the said Tract of Land called poplar Ridge which in the p.rsence of sundry of the Neigbourhood & Thomas Larkin Surveyor did shew some bounded & line trees of the said Land And did then & there relate that the Ancient meets & bounds of the said Land wherever deemd to be as by them p.rscribed (That is to say) Begining at the End of two hundred seventy four perches In the East & by North Course of the said Bateman his Land there was as p the above mencond Evidence formerly deemed to be the Intersection of a tract of Land called Shaws Folly w.ch the originall Cer relates to then Instead of running North one hundred Pches we extended one hundred & twelve Pches to a small bounded Psimmon standing near the spott where the ancient bounder appeard to stand then instead of running East Seventy five Pches it appeard to be but twelve pches to the bounder Att the End of the said East Course & then Instead of North one hundred Pches Wee extended but forty three Pches Wherever mett with Short draught of a branch where appeard by the abovesaid Evidence to stand the bounded Tree att the end of the said Course there now by the Consent of both the abovesaid partys Concernd is a bounded Beech standing by the side of the said Branch And then instead of running West one hundred Pches to a bounded Tree as mencond in the Originall Cert Wee rann but sixty eight Pches to the said Tree it being proved by the above Evidence to be the Originall tree standing at the end of the west Course then by a line drawn Correspondent to the ancient Certificate South by East Eighty Pches to a pair tree standing where formerly stood the Original Bounder of a Tract of Land called Bessington which the Originall pattent relates to these being the bounds that lay ambiguous between us the subscribers And now being proved to both our satisfaction Wee do hereby oblige our selves our heires Ex.rs or Adm.rs or Assigns for ever hereafter to stand to & abide by the said Bounds Releasing & relinquishing all manner of Claime or Claimes whatsoever to each other our heires & assigns for ever of any other bound or bounds whatsoever ^relating & in anyways appertaining to the said Land^ In Witness whereof wee have hereunto sett our hands & seals the day & year first above written Signum Test Tho Larkin W.m + Bateman (seald) Nicholas N Aldridge Enrolled William W Pike August 24.th Tho Gassaway (Seald) Edward Lee 1703 5 sides |
