(361) S.r Barbadoes June 15.th 1699 Att seventeen days sight of this my first BIll of Exchange my second and third not paid pray pay or cause to be paid unto Cap.t John Howell or his order the sum of One hundred Seaventy four pounds fourteen shillings sterling money of England and place it to account of Your humble Servante Charles Thomas To the Worppfull S.r Joseph Horne Merchant in London Pray pay the Contents To Order John Howell On the Tenth day of may Anno Dm 1700 at the request of M.r Joseph Rosewell of London Merchant I Jeremiah Jenkins Notary and tabellion publick by Royall authority Admitted and Sworne Dwelling in London afd Did Exhibitt the Orriginall Bill of Exchange whereof the Coppy is here above Written unto Frederick Horne Esq.r (son of the Worppfull S.r Joseph Horne late deceased) and Demanding paym.t of Its contents he answered That he would not pay the sd Bills for want of Effects which being by me Notary heard I have protested as by these presents I doe sollemnly protest (at the request afores.d) as well against Charles Thomas Drawer of y.e s.d Bill as all other whome it may concerne for Exchange and reechange and for all costs Damages & interrests suffred and to be suffered for want of payment of the said Bill Thus done & Protested in London in the presence of Jeremy Cosborne and Abraham Handcock Wittnesses Quod attestor Rogatus (seale) Jere.h Jenkins P Not.s Pub.cus 1700 |
