(331) To his Ex.cy the Gov.r and Councill By vertue of A Certaine Act of Assembly for Ascertaining the bounds of A pcell of Land of A Pcell of Land that Cap.t Rich.d Ladd Give to the use of Christ Church in Christ Church Pish as by his Last will may fully and att large appeare in p.rsence of the sher and a Jury of the neighbours being Impannelld and sworne was p formed in p.rsence of as many of the Jurors as would attend the same by appointment met at y.e house of M.r John Dorman on the Clifts on y.e twenty seventh day of may & going to a place Called the steps A Jury of the neighbours being Impannelles was all the said place Called the steps duely sworne being twelve in Number Also Evidences being sworne to prove the place Called the stepps y.e whole Jury agreeing that y.e place was sufficiently proved ordered A Locust tree to be bounded which was there accordingly done with twelve notches night Coming on Adjourned till next morning when appeared parte of the Jury and rainy weather adjourned till Saturday June the first when mett againe Eleven of the Jurors which was at first sworne and found the steps night Coming on againe before Could finish adjourne againe till Saturday the 8.th of June Att all which severall days and times the Survey hath been done and sett up for the Southermost bounds of the Land Called Charles Guift which Post was fallen downe and now sett up againe in the same place and running thence North forty five degrees westerly Eighty eight pole then north forty two degrees West forty Eight pole up the bay to a bounded Locust standing att the steps thence west into the woods four hundred seventy six pole to a bounded white Oake standing nere to S.t Leonards Creeke thence downe and with the said Creek south sixteen degrees west forty five poles till it Intersects the Land of W.m Gambill thence with the line of the said land East two hundred sixty and six pole to a bound red oake by a small Branch side And is the North East Corner tree of the s.d Gamballs Land thence East to the first beginning locust poste on the banch side by the bay Containing two hundred thirty nine Acres June y.e 8.th 1700 p me John Leach Surv.r (seale) |
