820) 840 Maryland fs Know all men by these p.rsents that we Jn.o West of Pocomoke District in the Province af.d Gent.n & M.r Alexander Elzey and M.r Alexander Kyle are holden and firmly bound unto his Ex.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r His Ma.ts Cap.t Gen.ll and Chief Govern.r of the said Province in the full and Just sume of one thousand pounds of Lawfull Money of England to be paid to the s.d Francis Nicholson Esq.r his Ex.rs Administrat.rs or Assignes to the which payment well and truly to be made we bind our Selves and Either of us by him Selfe our and Either of our heires Ex.rs and Adm.rs Joyntly and severally for the whole and in the whole firmly by these p.rsents wittness our hands and seales this 26.th day of June Annoq Domini 1697 The Condicon of this obligacon is such that Whereas his Ex.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r Aforesaid hath Comissionated and Appointed the said John West to be Navall Officer for the District of Pocomck w.thin the s.d Province by his Comission bearing Date w.th these p.rsents Now if the s.d John West shall well and truly pform the s.d office according to the severall Acts of Parliament in that Case made and provided and shall observe the Directions contained in the Acts of Assembly of this Province relating to the Duty of Navall Officers and ^from^ time to time save defend and keep harmless the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r from all damage loss and Charges that he the said Francis Nicholson Esq.r shall sustaine at any time by reason of the s.d Wests nonpformance of his said office (so long as he shall enjoy the same) as in the s.d severall Laws is Enacted and ordained then the above obligacon to be voyd and of none Effect otherwise to be and remaine in full force and virtue Jn.o West (sealed) Sealed and Delivered in p.rsence off Alexand Elzey (sealed) Charles Hutchins Alexander Kyle (sealed) Tho Collier Maryland fs Know all men by these Presents that I George Muschamp of S.t Maryes County Esq.r Thomas Tench of Ann Arrundell County Esq.r and Phillip Clark of S.t Maries County Gent.n doe owe and stand Justly Indebted unto our Soveraigne Lord King William the third &c.a in the full and Just sume of five hundred pounds sterl money of England; the which payment well and truly to be made to our s.d Soveraigne Lord the King his heires and successo.rs we binde our selves and each of us our and every of our heires Ex.rs and Adm.rs Joyntly & Severally firmly by these p.rsents as wittness our hands and seales his 12.th Day of October in the Ninth Year of his s.d matys Reigne &c.a Annoq Domini 1697 The Condicon of the above obligacon is such that whereas the above bound George Muschamp Esq.r hath this day by his application and motion in Councill signified unto his Ex.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r Cap.t Gen.ll & Governo.r in Chief of his Maj.ties s.d Province of Maryland that his Maj.tie as yett having appointed noe reciever for the District of Pocomoke his is willing to take upon him that Charge and care by reason it was Joyned to that of Potomock District in the time of the Late Coll Nehemiah Blackiston whereof he the s.d Muschamp is by his Maj.ties Comission actually Constituted Reciever; And forasmuch as an Order of his Ex.cy and Councill hath accordingly passed the Day and Year above written appointing the s.d George Muschamp Esq.r Reciever of his matys Revenue of Pocomocke District afores.d in as full and ample power as by his comission and Instructions for Potomock District he is authorized & Impowered recourse whereunto being had more fully and Largly Appear Now if the s.d George Muschamp shall & do in all things well and faithfully discharge and pform that Trust by the s.d order reposed in him as also pduce and Render before his Ex.cy in Councill a true and pfect acco.t (Twice Every Year) of all sume and sums of money and Tobacco as shall by him be collected for the use of his Maj.tie w.thin the district or presinct afores.d from time to time and accordingly make oath to the same dureing his acting in that station then this p.rsent obligacon to be voyde and of noe Effect otherwise to stand and remaine in full force power and virtue George Muschamp (sealed) signed sealed and delivered in y.e P.rsence of Us Thomas Tench (sealed) James Frisby Phillip Clarke (sealed) S Watkins Hen Denton |
