       This will be brought by Cap.t Joseph Collman master of the ship Dover merch.t for y.e Leading Whereof
       we request you take his bills on us for y.e Mary Land Dutys and port Charges of what Tob.o she may take
       on Board without oblidging him to other Security      We hereby Engadge to pay his bills for y.e said duty
       and port Charges also what Favour you please shew him as our Supra Cargoe Amos Garrett The same shall
       be allways and Duly Accknowledged wherein we may

                   Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King &c.a in the just sume of one thousand
                   pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid unto our said Soveraigne Lord his heires and success.rs
                   to y.e which payment well and truly to be made we bind our Selves and Either of us our and Either of our
                   heires Ex.rs and Adm.rs Joyntly and Severally firmly by these p.rsents sealed w.th out Seales and Dated
                   the fourteenth Day of May Anno Dom 1696


The Condicon of this Obligacon is such that whereas the above bounden Thomas Smithson is appointed publique
Treasurer by the Gen.ll Assembly of this Province w.th in the p.rsincts of the Eastern Shoar and whereas by virtue of
such Appointm.t he is impowered to take into his hands and possesion of all such sume and sums of money as are due &
payable by virtue of sundry acts of assembly within this Province Now these p.rsents wittnesseth that in case the said
Thomas Smithson doe and shall well and truly from time to time and at all times hereafter render a true and just account
of such money Tobacco or goods which shall come to his hands and possesion to the Assembly for y.e time being then this
