820 (799 Wee further find that there was paid and deliverd into the hands of the said late Gov.r the sum of 133 13 00 by M.r Thomas Tench to whome the said Gov.r gave Ord.r to Collect and Receive the same being a duty upon Liquors Imported into this Province as Rum Wine &c for and towards defraying the Publick Charge Wee doe allso find the late Gov.r Chargeable with Ten barrells of his Maj.tyes Powder by him disposed of and not brought into his Majestys Magazine Wee the Committee having allso Inspected and Examined y.e sevrall accompts Exhibited by M.r John Cood and M.r Kenelm Chesledyne herewith p.rsented Wee doe find that M.r John Cood chargeth with the Receipt of severall Bills of ℓ s d Exchange Goods and Money amounting to the sum of 988 00 02 viz To Bills of Exchange Goods and Money recd as Naval Officer for Potomack District from August in the Year 1689 till Aug.t following in the Year 1690 ℓ s d As p his Acc.tt app.rs amounting to the sum of 421 18 10 To More Bills Received amounting to y.e sum of 448 01 04 The sd M.r Cood Craves Allowance for the severall sums hereafter ℓ s d mentioned Amounting to the sum for 1556 12 07 To severall Bills deliverd M.r Kenelm Chesledyne & M.r Robert King then in England amounting to y.e sum of 300 12 04 To severall Bills of Exchange for the Impost of 2.str p hhd ret protested 271 04 02 Some of which wee find not paid lost in England and others in suit some paid Conditionally and some part paid among which wee find the sum of 54 13 4 received To Commission as Navall Officer for Collecting and Receiving bills for the sum of 421 8 10 at 10 p Cent is 42 10 00 Which is Sallary Extraordinary and without president To Money paid one Blankestein by ord.r the sum of 10 00 00 Noe such ord.r has been to us produced To Porters and Millners Bills amounting to Deliverd the Kings Receiver Gen.ll 49 06 00 Not any ord.r nor receipt for the s.d Bills soe deliverd has been to us produced To 3 Rheam of Paper 01 10 00 To 150 pds of Powder 07 00 00 Wee know of Noe such Powder ever brought into the Magazine nor of any occassion to make life threof To Expences in England as Agent amounting to y.e sum of 432 18 01 Which Expences is Extraordinary and Beyond our Abilityes and we belieive much more than Needfull in Regard he had free Access to the Councill board without Charge or delay To his owne and Mand passage to England 12 00 00 Against this wee have Nothing to object being the Common fare of an Ordry pson |
