798) 819 Maryland fs Port Annapolis June y.e 12.th 1695 Wee whose Names are hereunto subscribed By his Ex.cy the Gov.r and Councill Together with the Representatives of this Province appoynted a Committee to Inspect and Examine all Accompts of the Revenue Raised within this Province for the Support of Governm.t from the Begining of the Revolution in the year 1690 untill the Arrivall of his Ex.cy Francis Nicholson Esq.r their Maj.tyes Gov.r into this Province which was in July in the Year 1694 in psuance of which wee have used our utmost Care and Diligence by which wee find here has been paid and Deliverd into the hands of Lyonell Copley Esq.r their Majestyes late Gov.r by severall officers the severall sums by Bills of Exchange and otherwise hereafter Mentioned As allso the severall sums of Money Goods and Bills of Exchange part of the said Revenue made use of and Expended by M.r John Cood and M.r Kenelm Chesledyne Agents for this Province as by their Accompts herewith p.rsented may more fully appear Having p used all such Bookes Accounts loose and Confrised papers as by any meanes wee Could procure and allso the Best Account wee Could from the officer now living which were appoynted for Collecting and Receiving the s.d Revenue within the time afd By all which wee find the said Lyonell Copley late Gov.r to have received and taken into his Custody and hands the severall sums by Bills of Exchange and otherwise as hereafter Mentioned Amounting to the sum of 2316 12 11 Bills of Exchange Deliverd To Lyonell Copley Esq.r late Gov.r deceased To Bills of Exchanged Deliverd by George Plater Esq.r their Majestyes Collector and Receiver Gen.ll Amounting to the sum 1556 10 To Bills deliverd by M.r Robert King Navall Officer 84 16 To Bills deliverd by M.r Nehemiah Blackiston Collector & Receiver Gen.ll for Potomack district 198 19 To Bills deliverd by M.r Sam.ll Bourne Navall officer for Petuxant District 466 07 08 £ 2316 12 11 Severall Bills of Exchange Protested By the said Gov.rs Agent bills returned protested and are Now in the 131 18 08 hands of M.r George Plater Amounting to the sum of which s.d sum deducted Remaines the sum of 2184 14 03 The one fourth pt of which Clear Revenue amounts to y.e sum of 546 3 6 Which said fourth part is appoynted for and towards Maintaining a Constant Magazine w.th Armes and Ammunition within this Province for defence thereof as by his Majestyes Instructions to the late Governo.r does more at large appear In psuance of which His Excy Francis Nicholson Esq.r their Maj.tys P.rsent Governo.r the s.d sum of 543.ℓ 3.s 6.d from the hands of M.r George Plater and M.r Thomas Tench Trustees appoynted to take Care and looke after the said decds Estate whose Depositions thereunto relating are herewith p.rsented |
