81 Acts thing or things devise or devises assureance or assureances whatsoever requisite in the p.rmisses for the better and firmer Conveying and more suremakeing of the said Bargained premisses unto him the said Dennis Swelivan his heirs and assignes for ever bee it by Inrollment of these presents five feoffment or otherwise or by any other such lawfull wayes or meanes as by him the said Dennis Swelivan his heirs or assignes or his Councell learned in the Law shall be reasonably devised advised or required In Wittness whereof the partye above named have hereunto sett his hand and seale the day and yeare above written signed sealed and delivered G Vsweringen sealed in the p.rsence of us Thomas Long Vall Shuckbrough on the backside of the aforegoing Deed was thus written viz.t Memorandum that this day to with the Eleventh day of October in the Third yeare of the Dominion of Charles &.ca Annoq Domi 1678 before us Phillip Calvert Esq.r and William Calvert Esq.r two of his Lordpps Justices of the Provinciall Court came the within named Garret Vansweringen & Mary his wife in their propper persons And the said Mary being by us alone & secretly Examined according to the forme of a Certain act of Assembly in that Case provided did acknowledge the lands in the within written Deed to be the Right of him the within named Dennis Sulevant hath of the guift of them the said Garrett & Mary And for them and their heirs have remised & made quitt clayme thereof to the said Dennis & his heirs for ever And further they the said Garrett & Mary have granted for them & their heyres that the said Lands within menconed unto him the said Dennis & his heirs against them the said Garret & Mary & their heirs they will Warrant for ever And for this acknowledgment remise quitt clayme & Agreement the said Dennis hath Given them the said Garrett & Mary six Thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco Taken before us Philip Calvert William Calvert This Indenture made the four and Twentieth day of June in the second yeare of the Dominion of the Right Hon.ble Charles Absolute Lord & Prop.ry of the Provinces of Maryland & Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.ca and in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred seventy and seven Between Henry Stockett of the Ridge in the County of Ann Arundell in the Province of Maryland gentleman and James Stavely of Cæcil County in the said Province of Maryland Marchant Administrators of all and singular the goods Chattles Rights and Creditts of Nathaniell Styles late of Cæcill County aforesaid Marchant deceased of the one parte And Edward Inglish of Cæcil County aforesaid Marchant of the other parte Witnesseth that whereas the said Nathaniell Styles was in his life tyme and att the tyme of his death seized in his demeasne as of free & comon Soccage of and in all and singular that parcell of land hereunder mentioned to be hereby given granted bargained and sold And being soe thereof seized made his last will & Testament in writeing bearing date the Nynteenth day of September in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six hundred seventy and six and thereby amongst other things therein Conteyned did will and bequeath the same parcell of Land to be sold And of his said will did Nominate and appoynt the aforesaid Henry Stockett and James Stavely Administrat.r and one William Sermshire his Execut.r for the use therein mentioned as by the said last will & Testament of the said Nathaniell Styles Relation thereunto being had may more att large appeare Now this Indenture further Witnesseth that the said Henry Stockett & James Stavely in pursuance of the trust in them reposed touching the premisses by the said Nathaniell Styles in and by his said last will and Testament as aforesaid and for and in Consideration of the full sume and Just quantity of five and Twenty Thousand pounds of every way well Conditioned Marchantable Tobacco in Caske to them in hand paid and secured to be paid by the said Edward Inglish att and before the insealing & delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof they the said Henry Stockett and James |
