This Indenture Made y.e 21.st Day of Aug.t in the yeare of our Lord 1695 Between John Edmondson of Talbot County in the province of Maryland Merchant of the one part and Rob.t Carvile of S.t Marys County in the same province Gent of y.e other part Witnesseth that the said John Edmondson for the Consideracon of Nine thousand seaven hundred pounds of tob in hand well and truely paid before the Ensealeing hereof the receipt whereof the said John Edmondson doth hereby Acknowledge doth therefore Give grant bargaine sell and Alene Enffeoffe and Confirme to him the said Robert Carvile his heirs and Assignes for Ever all that tract or p.ll of Land Called Ceader point lyeing in Great Choptanke River in Talbot County Now Dorsett County in the North East branch of the River & on the south east side of the branch at the Mouth of a Creeke Called Ingrams Creeke on the North side of the said Creeke Beegining at a Marked Ceader tree standing by y.e Creeke side and Runing up y.e branch fifty p.rches to a Marked pine tree by the Watter side North and Runing from the said pine south East Three hundred and Twenty perches to a parcell of Land laid out for John Ingram of this province & bounded on the south with the said Ingrams Land one hundred & sixty p.rches south to to a Marked tree in the woods and Runing from thence West two hundred p.rches to a Marked Oake in the woods & Runing from the said Oake North One hundred & sixty perches to the aforesaid Creeke and bounded with the said Creeke for the length of three hundred and Twenty p.rches to y.e first Marked Ceader tree Containeing three hundred Acres More or Less together with all Edifices buildings Yards Gardens and Orchards timber and timber trees Woods Underwoods and appurtenances to the said parcell of Land belonging or appartaineing to have & to hold the said prcell of Land and p.rmisses to y.e only proper use and behoofe of the said Robert Carvile his heirs and Assignes for Ever And that the aforesaid parcell of Land and p.rmisses hereby granted to y.e said Robert Carvile his heirs and Assignes y.e said John Edmondson doth hereby Covenant and agree with the said Robert Carvile his heirs and Assignes against all p.rsons Whatsoever to Warrent and Defend by these presents from all former and other Bargens Sales Gifts Grants Dowers rents and all other Incombrances Whatsoever had Made & Done due to the Cheife Lord of the fees only excepted In Wittness Whereof the said John Edmondson hath hereunto set his hand and seale the Day and yeare above Written John Edmondson (seale) Signed Sealed and Delivered in p.rsence of M Miller Maryland fs Memorandum quod Vicesimo primo die Augusti Anno Dm 1695 Jn.o Hall Then personally appeared before us Whose Names are under Written being E Batson two of their Maj.ties Justices of y.e provintiall Court the within Written John Edmondson and did then Acknowledge the within Written deed to be his Act and Deed to the use and behoofe of the Within Menconed Rob.t Carvile his heirs and Assignes for Ever Taken and Certified by us the Day & yeare above Written Recorded Aprill 3.d 1696 Richard Hill E Jones |
