721) 731 Know all men by these p.rsents That I Benjamin Hatley of London Merchant have made Ordained Constituted authorized and appointed and in my place and stead put and by these p.rsents Doe Make Ordaine Constitute Authorize and Appoint and in my place and stead put John Brice of London Merchant to be my true and lawfull Attorney for me and in my name and to my use to aske sue for Leavy Requir Recover and Receive of all and every person and persons whatsoever in America all and every such Debt sum and sums of money Goods Wares and Merchandizes as are now there due or belonging unto me or which at any time or times hereafter shall be due owing belonging or appertaining to me by any manner of ways or meanes whatsoever Giveing and granting unto my said Attorney by these p.rsents my full and lawfull power strength and authority in and about the p.rmisses and upon the receipt of any such Debts sum and sums of money Goods Wares and Merchandizes as aforesaid Acquittances or other Discharges for me and in my name to make seal deliver and all and every other Act and Acts thing and things Device and Devices in the Law whatsoever needfull and necessary to be done in or about the p.rmisses for the recovery of any such Debts and sums of money as aforesaid for me and in my name to doe Execute and perform as fully largely and amply in every respect and to all intents and purposes as if I were personally p.rsent And I doe hereby Ratify Allow and Confirm all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully doe or cause to be done in or about the Execucon of the same by vertue of these p.rsents In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Eighth day of December Anno Dm 1694 sealed and delivered in the p.rsence of us being stamped Benj Hatley according to Act of parliam.t Hen Hatley August the 14.th 1695 Willm Baker Leo Hall Then came before us the within named Heneage Robinson and Henage Robinson by his oath upon the holy Evangelist declared the within written Letter of Attornie to be the Act and Deed of the within named Benjamin Hatley Jo.n Hammond Record 2.o Sep.t 1695 Richard Hill Henry Wriothesley Clk To all Christian people to whom these p.rsents shall come or concern Thomas Baker late of Charles County in Maryland but now of Richard County in Virginia sendeth greeting Whereas I and my wife Elizabeth by our certain Deed of Indenture of Feoffment & Conveyance made to William Dent of Charles County Gent of the moiety of a piece of land called Harrisons Guift and a piece of land known by the name of the Lott Number 2 bearing date the 14 day of Septemb 1692 and is hereunto annexed and acknowledged in Charles County Court as there may appear amongst other things we did Covenant to make to the said Dent and his heirs such further assurance thereof as he or his Councill learned in the Law should advise or requir at any time in 7 years after the date thereof In pursuance thereof I doe hereby ratify and Confirm the said Deed bearing date as aforesaid and the lands and Tenements therein menconed to the said Dent his heirs and Assignes for ever in manner and form as in the same Deed is expressed any fraudulent or feigned Deed by me at any time made to one Thomas Orrell of Charles County notwithstanding as Witness my hand and seale this 15 day of August 1695 Thomas Baker The same day this Deed was signed sealed acknowledged and delivered as the Act and Deed of the said Thomas Baker before us Law Washington Will Horton |
