       pcells of Land and plantacons scituate Lyeing and being in S.t Maries Sommersett &
       other Counties within this province and also possessed of a personall Estate to a good
       vallue he the said Robert Cager being soe seized and possessed did make his last will
       and testament in writeing bearing date the 24.th day of January 1675) And
       therein and thereby Amongst other things did devise give and bequeath all
       Imovables Lands & Tenements by what name or title whatsoever they are Called
       or any way appeare to bee his debts being well satisfied Contented and payd unto the
       Inhabitants of S.t Georges and poplar hill hundred in the aforesaid County and to
       theire Survivo.rs and successo.rs for Ever for Maintaining of a protestant Minester
       from time to time Amongst them as they the Inhabbitants of the said County hundred
       or the Major part ^there^of should approve of for theire Minester & teacher
       the Free holders of the said two hundred or the major part of them to elect
       admitt and approve of such from time to time to bee theire Minester and teacher
       that hee soe admitted to every the bennifitts of his said Estate soe ordered and
       M.r George Marshall and M.r Peter Walls to bee his Lawfull Executors to see to
       the p.rformance of this his will and they to Nominate hereafter them as might see
       to the carrying on and prosecuteing from time to time the Intent of his said
       will according as hee had before menconed And whereas the Inhabbitants of S.t
       Georges and poplar hill hundred did humbly suplicate her Lordship that
       be graciously pleased to Confirme the said will and that it might remaine firme
       to all Intents and purposes according to the desire of the said testator
       and thereupon his Lordship did assent hereunto but did not know of any other
       Maior Recorder Aldermen and Common Councill of the Citty of S.t Maries
       and theire Successors for the time being who being a Corporacon were capable
       of receiveing the grant of the said Land to the Intended uses It was thereupon amongst
       other things ordained and Enacted that the said Reall estate of the said Robert
       Cager and all the messuages lands and tenements and heradittaments whatsoever
       in this said province of Maryland bee and are hereby vested estates and settled in the
       said Maior Recorder Aldermen and Comon Councill of the said Citty of S.t Maries and
       theire successors for Ever in an Estate of Inheritance in Fee Simple and that
       the Said Maior Recorder Aldermen and Comon Councill and theire successors shall
       and may have hold occupy possesse and enjoy the said Lands and premisses
       and every part thereof and to sett lett and dispose hereof to such person or
       persons as they or theire successors shall be he fitt the present Incumbent
       or Minester therein the first refusall if hee desire to take the same
       and dispose of the rents Issues and proffitts thereof to the uses Intents
       and purposes hereafter Menconed that is to say that the said Lands & tenements
       and the proffitts thereof bee disposed of for the Main trame of a protestant
       Minester from time to time to live amongst the Inhabbit.ts of S.t Georges and
       poplar hill hundred sure on one as the said Inhabbitants shall appeare & allow
       of for theire Minester and teacher according to the true Intent & meaning
       of the said Testators will and To noe other use whatsoever The
       Statute of Mortenance or any other Law Custome or Usage to the
       Contrary thereof in any wise Notwithstanding and whereas the said
       Peter Watts and Francis Sourton and other the Inhabbitants of the said hundreds have
       given informacon to the Court of Maior Recorder Aldermen and Comon Councill of the
       said Citty that the said Robert Cager dyed much indebted over and above what his psonall
       Estate would amount to satisfie and that the Same Could not be discharged but by late
       of part of his Lands And thus the said Robert Cager dyed seized of a percell of land
       in Talbott County called Kedgerston and That the said William Thomas was
       willing to buy the Same Now Know ye that Wee the Said Maior Record.r Aldermen
       and Comon Councill in pursuance of the trust in us Reposed by the Act afores.d
       And to raise Tobacco be payable the said Cagers debts and the Rent arrears to the
       Hono.ble the Lord Proprietary for the said Land and for and in Consideracon of the
       full and just summe and Quantity of of fourteen thousand pounds of good sound
       Merchantable Tobacco in Caske to them in hand paid by the said Will.m Thomas
