557) 567 Maryland fs Articles of Agreem.t Indented Made and Concluded on the third day of October Anno Domini 1691 By and Betweene Jo Llewellin of S.t Marys County of the one part and William Price of the Same County Planter of the other part as foll (viz.t) Imp.rs It is agreed Covenanted and Concluded one and Betweene the parties to these presents that the said John Llewellin hath and hereby doth Lett and sett out to the said William Price his Dwelling Plantation on the bay side called S.t Hellens for the space and tearm of seaven yeares from the last day of November Next fully to be compleate and ended to the use & for the Intent and purpose here after mentioned Item The said William Price as overseer upon the sd plantation is to take charge of three Four or more servants (now Exceeding six in Number) in any one yeare dureing the said term with w.ch he is to cause his utmost endeavor of Making a cropp of Corne and Tobacco upon the said Plantation on the same well and sufficiently Fence in and secure from the spoile of cattle hoggs and horses to the best of his skill Knowledge and power as also upon occation to cleare Fresh ground and improve the same in the Most proper and Convenient places for the better Making of Cropps of Corne & Tobacco as aforesaid as also for soweing of wheate or other English graine as shall bee agreed on by the said John Llewellin & W.m Price in upon the said Plantation Item It is agreed that the said John Llewellin and William Price shall putt upon the said Plantation a equall proportion of breeding sowes to runn there with their Increase upon the joint Stock and account of them both and to be equally divided between them at the expiration of the afsd tearm of seaven yeares or otherwise to be Killed and made use of by either party as occation shall require an account whereof to be exactly Kept and allowance made for the same at Expiration aforesaid or when the Stock shall come to be shared Item That for the Stock of Cattle the particular Increase of each mans proportion to be putt upon the said plantation to be Marked with his p.rticular proper marke and tu runn there for his owne proper account to have all equall benefitt of the plantation pasture & Corne Field and to be tended and Looked after by the said overseer onely each party to find their proportion of Corne for the said Stock of Cattle Item In Consideracon Whereof the said William is to have one full fare according to the Number of hands upon the said Plantation Yearly of all such Tobacco Indian or English grain as shall bee every Yeare During the term aforesaid made upon the said Plantation yearly And also have allowed him for the Maintenance and provision of himself (besides the hands to be found and provided for by the said John Llewellin Four hundred weight of Meate and Four barrill of Corne Item The said William Price is to have the use of a New house Newly setting upon the said plantation by Michaell Cheevers Carpenter neer adjacent to the dwelling house of the said John Llewellin for this p.rsent year (viz.t) one part or division of the said New house being one room for his Lodging roome and to hold his owne Necessarys for himselfe and his wife the other part being a Kitching for the joint use of the said John Llewellin and the said W.m Price to dress Victualls &c.a for themselves and Servants and for the time next after to Come to the Said John Llewellin is built and sett up for the said William Price and the hands under his charge another New twenty foote roome convenient for them Neere to their worke Item The said William Price with the hands of the said John Llewellin under his charge is to find the dwelling house and Kitchin aforesaid with Conveniant fair wood dureing the said term & the said John Llewellin to find Cart and horse for that purpose |
