       The Eleaventh daÿ off September 1686 the within menconed Thomas Cleggat
       acknowledged the Within written deed to be his act & deed before us two
       off his Lorpps Justices off the provinciall Court

       This Indenture made the Eleaventh daÿ off Septemb.re In the Eleaventh yeare
       off the Dominion off the right honorabl Charles Baron off Baltemore &c annoq.r
       Dim 1686 Betweene Michaell Miller of Kent Coutitÿ in the province of Marÿland
       Gent on the one part and Thomas Cleggat off Calvert Countÿ in the province off Marÿland
       on the other part  Witnesseth that for & in Consideracon off securing unto the said
       Thomas Cleggat off the sume off thirtÿ seaven thousand & two hundred pounds off
       tobacco Now owing by the said Michaell Miller unto the said Thomas Clegatt and to be
       paid as hereafter is Menconed and for divers other good causes & Consideracons the said
       Michaell Miller thereunto Moving hee the said Michaell Miller hath grannted bargained
       demised and to farme letten and by these presents doth demise grannt bargaine & to farme
       Lett unto the said Thomas Cleggat all that manner tract or parcell off Land called
       Godlingtons Manner Lying on the East side off Chesepeake bay and on the west side off
       a River in the said baÿ called Chester River Begining at a Marked oake upon a Cliffe
       Runing south west and by south downe the River for the breadth off five hundred
       perches to a marked Locust tree by a Creeke Called Godlingtons Creeke bounding on the
       North by a line drawne North west from the oake upon the Cliffe for Lenth three
       hundred and twenty perches on the west by a line drawne south west & by south for
       for breadth five hundred perches Untill It Intersect a paralell drawne from Godlingtons
       Creeke on the south by the said Creeke and paralell on the East by the said River Conteyning
       one thousand acres be the same More or Lesse as it Lÿes and is bounded by the
       Naturall bounds there off together with all houses Ediffices buildings orchards
       Gardens Easements wayes fishings & fowlings & all and singuler other the appurtnencces
       rights Members and priviledges to the said Mannor belonging or in anÿ Manner off
       wise apperteyning and all the Estate right & interest off the said Michaell Miller
       off in & to the same To have and to hold the said Mannor Lands and premisses
       hereby grannted and demised or meet menconed or inted to be hereby grannted
       and demised with their and Everÿ off their appurtences unto the said Thomas
       Clegatt his Executors administrators and assignes from the daÿ of the date off these
       presents Unto & for & during the full End & terme off Nine hundred Ninety Nine
       yeares from thence next Ensuing and fullÿ to be Compleate and Ended
       Dispunishable from all Manner off wast whatsoever Yeilding and yearly
       paying there fore the Rent off one pepper Corne on the feast off S.t Michaell
       the archangell iff the same be Lawfully demanded provided alwayes and
       upon this Condicon nevertheles that iff the said Michaell Miller his heyres
       Executors administrators or assignes shall well and truely paÿ or cause to be paid
       unto the said Thomas Cleggat his Executors administrators or assignes the sume
       off thirtÿ seaven thousand two hundred pounds off good sound Merchantable
       tobacco & Caske Convenient for shipping in Kent County aforesaid in Manner
       & forme following (that is to say) seaventeene thousand two hundred pounds
       off tobacco part theroff on the tenth daÿ off January Next Ensuing the date
       above written and the sume off twentÿ thousand pounds off tobacco
