395 (386 I have hereunto sett my hand the 31.th day of May Anno Domi 1686 testis J Gibbs William Duckenfeild John Blackshaw I Thomas Skevinton above mentioned have and doe hereby assigne and sett over unto John Baker of the County of S.t Maries in the Province of Maryland the Indian Slave above named for the Consideration mentioned in one bill of Sale for the said Indian bearing equall Date with this Assignment as Wittnesse my hand the thirteenth day of July in the year of Lord 1686 Test James Heath Tho Skevington Henry Denton Maryland To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come Wee Nehemiah Blackistone of S.t Maryes County in the Province of Maryland gent Henry Darnall and Clement Hill William Digges of the same County Esq.rs send greeting in Our Lord God Everlasting Whereas at a Court of Admiralty held by speciall Comission att the house of Cap.t Joshua Doyne in the aforesaid County of S.t Maries in the Province aforesaid The Nine and twentieth day of July 1685 before the Justices thereunto assigned a Certeine Information was Exhibited by the said Nehemiah Blackstone Comptroller and Surveyor Gen.ll to his sacred Maj.tie James the second of all the rates Duties and Impositions due and payable to his said Maj.tie in the Province of Maryland who as well for our said soveraigne Lord the Kings Maj.ties and the Right Hono.ble the Lord Prop.ry Cheife Governor of the said Province as for himself prosecuteth agt Thomas Curtis Master of his friends adventure for breach of the Act of Parliament for Encouragm of trade made in the fifteenth year of the Reigne of Our late Soveraigne Lord King Charles the Second of blessed memory The Justices of the said Court (after the Jury impannelled brought in their Verdict that the said Thomas Curtis was Guilty of the premises did the day and year aforesaid adiudge and Condemne the said ship with all her Gunns tackle Ammunition furniture and Apparrell To be lost and forfeited for breach of the Law aforesaid To be Devided according to the Law aforesaid into three equall parts That is to say one third part to Our soveraigne Lord the King one third part to the said Lord Prop.ry cheife Governour aforesaid and one other third to the said Nehemiah (Blackiston |
