35 I James Tomison of Selby in the County of Yorke in the Kingdom of England Marriner Doe for Good Causes Constitute & appoint James Scott of Talbot County Planter my true and lawfull Attorney for me & in my name & to my use to Appeare sue & prosecute in all Causes & matters whatsoever wherein I am or may be Concerned within the Province of Maryland And to Act & Doe therein as if I were psonally p.rsent & did the same Hereby Ratifieng & Confirmeing whatever my said Attorney shall legally Doe Relateing to the premisses Witnes My hand & Seale the Sixteenth day of May 1677 Sealed & Delivered in p.rsence of us James Tomison Sealed Jn.o Fowkes Geo Lockier Underneath the Above Letter Attorney was written (viz.t) June y.e 18.th 1677 Then proved by the Oath of John Fowkes one of the Witnesses hereunto to be the Act & Deed of the Above named James Tomison & by him Signed & Sealed before me Will Calvert These are to impower you Kenelm Cheseldyn to appeare for me att Suite of John Addison & Rebecka his wife Adm.rx of Thomas Dent Deceased And to Act & Doe in the same as in yo.r Best Judgment & Discretion you shall thinke fitt & for the same this shall be yo.r warrant as Witness my hand this 27.th day of Aprill 1677 To M.r Kenelm Cheseldyn one of John Ireland Adm.r of the Goods the Attorneys of the Provinciall Court & Chattells of Margaret Penry These are to impower you Kenelm Cheseldyn to appeare for me in an Acction of Deed att Suite of Stephen Lusse & in the Same doe as in yo.r Best Judgment & discretion you thinke fitt Witnes My hand this 26.th day of Aprill 1677 Witnesse James Rumsey John Wynn This Indenture made the Tenth day of September in the Four & Fortyeth yeare of the Dominion of Cæcilius Absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &c Annoq Domi 1675 Betweene Thomas Philips of the County of Talbott Planter & Mary his wife of the one part And Edward Man of the Same County Marchant of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Thomas Philips and Mary his wife as well for & in Consideracon of the Full Sume or quantity of Eighteene Thousand Pounds of Good Sound Merchantable tobacco in Caskes unto and for him the said Thomas Philips & his Assignes in hand already paid by him the said Edward Man whereof & wherewith he the said Thomas Philips doth hereby Acknowledge himselfe fully satisfyed Contented & paid and thereof & Every part & pcell thereof Doth Clearly acquitt & absolutely discharge him the said Edward Man his heires Exec.rs & Assignes for Ever by these p.rsents as for Divers other Good Causes and valueable Consideracons them the said Thomas & Mary thereunto moveing Have and Either of them hath Given Granted bargained ^sold^ Aliened & Confirmed and by these p.rsents Doe & either of them doth Give Grant bargaine sell Alien & Confirme unto him the said Edward Man his heires & Assignes All that Tract or parcell of Land lately resurveyed Called Killom or by what other name or names soever the same or any parte or parts thereof is or are have or hath been Called or Knowne Lyeing & being in the said County of Talbott on the North side of Choptanke River there Begining att A marked White Oake being the Bounded Tree of A parcell of Land there formerly Laid Out for one Andrew Skinner Standing by the River ^side^ & by A valley running North East up the said River Two hundred Perches to A Marked White Oake Standing att or near the mouth or Entrance of A Certaine Creeke there Called or Knowne by the name of Turkey Creeke being the bounded Tree of A parcell of Land there formerly laid Out for One Ralph Williams & Running from the said last mentioned Oake North West Five hundred Ninety & Six Perches and with A Line drawne from the End of the said North West line South West Three hundred & Tenn Perches & with A Line drawne from the End of the said South West line South East Four hundred & Eighty Perches And with A line drawne from the End of the [illegible] South East line North East One hundred & Fifty Perches And [illegible] East by South One hundred & Sixty Perches to the said first [illegible] in the whole & laid out for One Thousand One hundred and [illegible] |
