       Know all men by these p.rsents that I John Swinistead of the Island aforesaid Have
       Ordained made and constituted and my stead and place by these p.rsents putt & constituted
       my trusty and welbeloved Freind Bartholomew Ennalls of Dorchest.r County in Maryland
       my true and lawfull Attorny for me and in my name and to my use to aske sue for leavy
       require recover and receive all & every such debts & sume of mony as are due oweing
       beloging or apperteyning unto me by any manner of wayes or meanes whatsoever from any
       person or persons whatsoever resideing or being in Maryland aforesaid or in Virginia
       Giveing and granting unto my said Attorny by these p.rsents my full and whole power
       strength and authority in and bout the p.rmisses and upon the receipt of any such debts or
       sums of money whether by bill bond accompt or otherwise acquittances or other discharge
       or discharges for me and in my name to make seale and deliver and all and every other Act or
       acts thing and things devise and devises in the law whatsoever needfull and necessary
       to be done in or about the p.rmisses for the recovery of all or any such debts or sumes of
       mony as aforesaid for me and in my name to do execute and performe as fully largely and
       amply in every respect to all intents construccons and purposes as I might my selfe or could
       doe if I were personally p.rsent Ratyfieing alloweing and holding firme and stable all and
       every such thing as my said attorny shall lawfully doe or cause to be done in or about the
       Execucon of the same by vertue hereof In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand
       and seale this seaventeenth day of August 1683 in the &&&o yeare of his Maj.tys raigne

                   Thomas Pemberton late of Som.rsett County Gent otherwise called Thomas Pemberton
                   of Som.rsett County Merchant was summoned to answere unto Humphry Jervis Knight of
                   the Citty of Dublin in the Kingdome of Ireland Merchant of a plea that he render unto him
                   his reasonable accompt of the time in w.ch he was Facto.r & Receivo.r of the moneys
                   goods & merchandize of him the said Humphry which to render instly he ought

       And whereupon the said Humphry by Anthony Underwood his Attorny saith that whereas
       the said Thomas Pemberton was facto.r & Receivo.r of the moneys goods & marchandize
       of him the said Humphry in the Province of Maryland aforesaid betweene the twentyeth day
       of August in the yeare of our Lord One thousand six hundred & Eighty and the twenty
       fourth day of May 1653 and by the same time there received of the moneys goods and
       Machandize of him the said Humphry (That is to say) at Nanticoke river in the aforesaid
       Province of Maryland the 10.th day of October 1680 by the hands of Jn.o Walls Master of
       the good shipp Elizabeth of Liverpoole One Cargoe of goods and Merchandize Containeing
       Fourteene hundred gallons of rum Two thousand one hundred Forty six pounds of sugar
       Two Negroes Seaven doz and Eight pre of shoes one hhd and three barrells of Mollasses
       Eleaven yards of Cloth One hundred and twenty doz of quart glass bottles filled with
       Canary And also dureing the time aforesaid to witt the first day of March Anno 1651
       att the place aforesaid by the hands of the aforesaid John Walls then Comander of the
       good ship Mary of Dublin One other Cargoe of goods and Merchandizes amounting to the
       sume of one hundred and three pounds six shillings & Tenn pence halfe penny first Cost in
       Ireland as by a perticular accompt or Invoyce ready here in Court to be produced may
