280) 290 or advised In wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seale y.e day & yeer above written signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us his Wm + Smyth J Broome James Rumsey mark On the back side of the foregoing deed was thus written her Elizabeth ~ Smyth mark At a provinciall Court held at the Citty of S.t Maries the nine & twentieth day of March Anno Dom 1683 the within written deed was by the within named William Smyth & Elizabeth his wife acknowledged in open Court to be by them signed sealed and att their act & deed delivered to the uses therein mentioned To all to whome this present writing shall Come Know Yee that I Nicholas Painter of Ann Arrundell County for & in Consideration of seaven hundred Acres of Land Lying in the said County of Ann Arrundell to me Assigned by James Grineffe of the County aforesaid Have bargained sold assigned enfeoffed & Confirmed & by these presents do bargaine sell assigne enfeoffe & Confirme unto the said James Grinesse All that tract or parcell of Land Called Andover Lying in Baltemore County on the south side of Petapsco River in the woods surveyed for sixteen hundred & forty acres or thereabouts To have and to hold the said sixteen hundred and forty acres Called Andover (before mentioned to be bargained & sold) to him the said James Grinesse his heires & Assignes for ever & I the said Nicholas Painter Do hereby further obleige myself my heires Executo.rs & Adm.rs to warrant & defend the said Land against all maner of persons Lawfully Claiming by from or under the said Nicholas Painter my heires Executo.rs & Adm.rs or any or either of them In Wittness whereof I the said Nicholas Painter have hereunto sett my hand & affixt my seale this thirtieth day of June In the Eighth Yeer of the Dominion of the R.t Hono.ble the Lord prop.ry Annoq Dom One thousand six hundred eighty & three Signed sealed acknowledged & delivered in the presence of Nic Painter (sealed) Vincent Lowe Henry Darnall On the backside of the foregoeing Deed was thus written July the 7.th Annoq Dom 1683 Then was the within written Deed at a provinciall Court held at the Citty of S.t Maryes in open Court acknowledged by the within named Nicholas Painter to bee by him signed sealed & delivered to the uses therein mentioned & the land & premisses therein mentioned to be the right of him the within mentioned James Greeniffe & his heires & Assignes for ever Test W.m Cocks Clk Henry Lewis of S.t Maryes County craved entry of the following Deed of Guift Viz Here I have given to Henry the sonn of Henry Lewis One Cow Calfe with all her Increase marked as followeth Viz Two square peices cutt out of the underside of the Left Eare The right Eare Cropt under halved and over Keeled This Calfe I have given as a Deed of guift and desire the same to be recorded As witnesse my hand the Eighteenth day of Aprill 1682 his Randall Rd Henson marke |
