28 Lott his labour and Could not Come to Accompte according as the said Quigly had Ordered him soe to Do & further Saith not George Chartsworth Sworne too in Open Court the twenty fourth of November 1675 Jn.o Blomfeild Know all men by these p.rsents That I Marke Cordea of S.t Innagoes in the County of S.t Maryes gentl have made ordayned constituted & appointed & by these p.rsents doe make Ordayne Constitute & appoint my deare & loveing wife Ellen Cordea and Walter Hall of the same place & County to be my true & lawfull Attorneys for me & in my name to aske for sue recover & receive all such debts Goods Wares or Merchandizes as are due & payable unto me either by bill money booke or reckoning or any other way whatsoever & after Judgem.t to Leavy & prosecute for the same Giveing & granting unto my said Attorneys or either of them my full & whole power & authority Acquittances & discharges to signe seale & deliver & out of prison to acquitt & release Attorney or Attorneys to make & Ordayne & att pleasure to revoake & Countermand And whatsoever my said Attorneys or either of them shall act or doe in the p.rmisses I do here by these p.rsents allow ratifie & Confirme as wittnes my hand & seale this thirtieth day of May in the second yeare of his Lordpps Dominion Annoq Dm 1677 Signed Sealed & deld in the p.rsence of us Marke Cordea sealed Tho Throppe Jacob Loockerman Underneath the above Letter of Attorney was thus written Viz.t June the second 1677 Marke Cordea owned this Letter of Attorney before me Philip Calvert John Fisher Aged thirty four yeares or thereabouts Sworne and Examined saith that some time in Aprill one Thousand Six hundred Seaventy four Marke Cordea Shipped on board the Shipp Freeman George Soutreen Master four hogsheads of Tobacco which was Consigned to Captaine Robert Crossman and this Deponent further deposeth that the aforesaid Shipp arrived att Leverpoole in Lancashire where the foresaid Robert Crossman Demanded the foresaid four hogsheads of Tobacco but not delivered by the Aforesaid Master George Southreen Sworne before me Feb.ry the twenty Eight 1676 Will Calvert Maryland fs Robert Large late of S.t Maryes County planter was Sumoned to Answer unto John Worthington of A Plea of Debt And whereupon the said John Worthington by Robert Ridgely his Attorney saith That whereas the said Robert the thirteenth day of May One Thousand Six hundred seaventy five borrowed of him the said John the sume of Twelve hundred and thirty pounds of Tobacco And the said Robert did faithfully promise him the said John the Said Twelve hundred and Thirty pounds of Tobacco when thereunto required would well and truly pay and Satisfie Yett the said Robert the said sume of Twelve hundred and thirty pounds of Tobacco to him the Said John though often thereunto Required hath not payd but the Same to pay hath refused & denyed to the Damage of the said John Two Thousand pounds of Tobacco and thereupon he bringeth his Suite pledg do ps Jn.o Doe Richd Roe Ridgely P quor And the said Robert Large in his proper person Cometh and defendeth the force and injury when &c and the said Robert to the said John as to the said Sume of Twelve hundred and Thirty Pounds of Tobacco nothing in barr thereof Said but |
