201 192 To all that shall see these p.rsents or heare them to be read S.r Francis Chaplin Knight Lord Maior and the Aldermen or Senators of the Citty of London send greeting Wee doe hereby make knowne and Certifie That on the day of the date hereof in the Kings Majesties Court holden Before us in the Chamber of the Guildhall of the said Cittie personally came and appeared Priscilla Holland of London Spinster daughter and Administrix of all and singuler the goods, Chattles rights debts & creditts of James Holland late Citizen and Grocer of London deceased And declared before us that for doeing and performing sundry matters and things menconed and confirmed in the letter of Attorny hereunto annexed beareing date the Twelfth day of October instant, she had made authorized and appointed Simon Wilmer now in Maryland late Servant Factor or Agent for her said Father in Maryland and Virginia And in Case of his decease and imediately therefrom Then Nathaniel Heathcot Merchant in Maryland aforesaid her true and lawfull Attorny and Assignee And for more Evidence and confirmacon thereof she the said appearer Priscilla Holland Did before us seale and deliver as her act and deed to the uses and for the purposes aforesaid the same letter of Attorny And humbly besought us to authenticate the same to the end it might take Effect for the purposes therein and thereby menconed and intended Wherefore wee have made this Attestacon and declaracon thereof And in further Testimony have Caused the seale of Office of Maiorality of the said Citty of London to be putt and affixed to these p.rsents Dated in London the Twenty third day of October Anno Dm 1678 And in the thirtieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defend.r of the Faith &c Wagstaffe locus sigilli To all Christian People to whome p.rsents shall come Christopher Rousby of Calvert County in the Province of Maryland gentl sendeth greeting in o.r Lord god Everlasting Whereas I am designed by gods permission to make a Voyage psonally for England and so to Retorne to this province and doe think it very needfull in my Absence to put some person in Especiall Trust for my Affaires here in Maryland Aswell in Relacon to my Office of Collect.r of his Majestyes dutyes in Maryland aforesaid as also in Relacon of my Owne private Estate & Concerne within the said Province Therefore Know yee That I the said Christopher Rousby have made Constituted ordained authorized and in my place by these p.rsents have appointed and put my very Loveing friend Robert Ridgely of St Maryes County in the province aforesaid gentl my true & Lawfull Attorney and Comissioner For me and in my Name & to my use to Aske require Recover & receive All & singuler sumes of Money Tobacco goods Chattles debts dutyes and Demands whatsoever they be of all person & persons in any wise due to me within this Province of Maryland Giveing and granting unto my said Attorney my full Power & Lawfull authority for Non Payment of the said sumes of Money Tobacco Debts demands (& |
