193 202 And Dutyes To arrest sue & implead imprisson & Condemne all and every such person & persons as shall denye or doe not upon demand pay or satisfy all such sumes of Money Tobacco debts and dutyes as are in any wise due unto me And Upon Receipt of the same seaverall and Respective acquittances & other sufficient discharge for me and in my Name to make seale & Deliver & To appeare for me and Defend me in all and every Court and Courts within this Province in all Accon or accons suite or suites That are or shall bee Concerned against me by any person or persons whatsoever And one or more Attorney or Attorneys und.r him to make and at his Pleasure againe to Revoake And Whereas I have for the better Mannageing of my said Office or place of Collecto.r of his Maj.ties Dutyes aforesaid substituted seaverall Deputyes for the seaverall and Respective Entring ports within the province I Doe hereby Empower & Authorize my said Comissioner and Attorney To Require Receive and Examine All & Every the account and accounts of my said Deputyes & every of them and to Allow or Disallow thereof as the case shall Require and as to my said Attorney shall seeme Right meete and Convenient And all & seaverally my said Deputyes or any of them Upon any reasonable Cause or Causes at the discression of my said Attorney to displace & put out of service and Office, and in such Case or Cases as also in Case of Mortality or any other case whatsoever Whereby any Vacancy is or may happen to be in the place of Deputy Collecto.r in any Entring port whatsoever within this said Province of Maryland To Retaine substitute authorize imploy & put in such other person or persons to Officiate in such Vacant Place or places as to my said Comission and Attorney from time to time shall seeme meete and Convenient Also Giveing to my said Comissioner or Attorney full Power To sell and Dispose of for my proffit use and benefit All such goods Chattles Houshold stuffe Corne graine & other things of and belonging to me the said Christopher Rousby within the said Province as from time to time my said Attorney shall thinke fitt Also granting to my said Comission.r and Attorney full power and authority in my Name On behalf of his Majest o.r soveraigne Lord the King The Governo.r of this Province for the time being and my self To Exhibite file and prosecute w.th effects in any Court or Courts w.thin this Province All and Every Informacon & Informacons That shall in the discression of my said Comission.r and Attorney be thought fit to be Exhibited filed & prosecuted against any person or persons, shipp or shipps, Vessell or Vessells, goods Marchandize or other things Whatsoever After Condemnation thereof for breach of the any penall statute of England Touching or Concerning Navigacon or his Majestyes Customes And the said shipp or shipps vessell or vessells goods or Marchandize or other things whatsoever After Condemnacon thereof for breach of the penall Lawes aforesaid The same to sell and Dispose of at pleasure in as large and ample manner as If I were personally p.rsent to doe and performe the same and of the Kings and my part thereof to make as full & sufficient Warranty thereof as I could doe if present by my Comission And also to sue prosecute & impleade all And every person & persons That are or shall be bound (to |
