189) 198 Anno Dm 1680 and in his two and thirtieth yeare of the reigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles second King of England &c Sealed and delivered in the p.rsence W.m Drope (sealed) of us after interlineing the words (sue for) Samuel Phillips The above menconed letter of Attorney was proved John Worthington by M.r Samuel Phillips & M.r W.m Applewhaite witness James Ryle to the same this 24.th day of March 1680 before me W Aplewhaite C Baltemore These may certyfie whome it may concerne that whereas W.m Drope did shipp in the shipp Crowne Mallig in Anno One thousand six hundred seaventy eight a parcell of goods to a considerable vallue and did consigne them unto Edward Selby & Comp.a of Maryland and did mention my name in the bill of ladeing & Invoyce These are to satisfie all people, and I declare, that I was not nor am not any wayes concerned in them and that my name was made use of proforma, and I doe hereby disclaime any right Title or interest, which I might have in respect of the menconing of my name in the bill of lading or Invoyce, as wittness my hand this Tenth day of September 1680 Witness John Worthington Thomas Elwes W Applewhaite The above writing was proved by M.r William Sam.ll Phillips Applewhaite & M.r Samuell Phillips witness to the same this 24.th March 1680 before me C Baltemore This Day to wit the six and Twentyeth day of Octob.r in the Fifth yeare of the Dominion of the Right hono.ble Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Domini 1680 Appeared George Hodgson of Charles County Chirurgion being bound by Recognizance to answer the Complaint of the Hono.ble Philip Calvert Esq Judge for Probate of Wills &c.a Touching a Certaine abuse by him comitted against the said Judge in Contemptuously refuseing to deliver back Letters of Administracon by him the said George fraudulently and upon false sugestions obtained from the said Judge upon the Estate of Samuel Raspin deceased to whome hee p.rtended himselfe to be Principall Credito.r And the said George Confessing his contempt in Disobedience to the Hono.rs ord.r and begging his Hono.rs pardon in open Court And submitting himself to the Court This Court doth order that hee bee discharged of his Recognizance Hee paying Eight hundred pounds of Tobacco to his Hono.r the Judge for probate of wills &c.a for the charges in sending after the said George Hodgson into Charles County about the said Letters of Administracon By this publick instrument of Procuracon or letter of Attorny bee it knowne and manifest unto all people that on the second day of the month of October Anno Dm 1678 And in the thirtieth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles the second King of England &c before me William Scorey Notary and Tabellion publick by authority of our said Soveraigne Lord the King admitted and sworne dwelling in this Citty of London and in the p.rsence of the witnesses afternamed personally appeared M.r Joseph Sparrow of London Clothworker (and |
