(153) 162 thinke fitt and Convenient and to take and Require accounts of any pson and to allow and disallow as the case requireth and the moneys to take and receive in my name and to my use And further I doe hereby authorize my said Comissioner and Attorney to sue and impleade any pson or psons in any Court of Lawe or Equity for the same and to signe seale and deliver any Deed Release or writeing whatsoever in my name for Confirmeing thereof Holding firme and stable whatsoever my said Comission.r & Attorney shall Doe herein as if I were psonally p.rsent and Did the same In Witnesse Whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Three & twentieth day of December in the Eight and twentieth yeare of the Reigne of our soveraigne Lord King Charles the second of England &c Annoq Domini One thousand six hundred seaventy six Martine Stampe (sealed) Sealed signed and delivered in the presence of Rob.t Gowlan, Jo Lloyd Underneath the aforegoing L.re of Attorney was thus written viz 15.th February An.o 1677/8 This L.re of Attorney was pved in comon forme by the Oath of Rob.t Gowlan Before me Philip Calvert Know all men by these p.rsents that I John Raven of the Towne and Port of Dover in the Kingdome of England Marchant have made Assigned and ordained and in my stead and place put and Constituted my Loveing friend Jacob Looten of St Marys County in the Province of Maryland Marchant to bee my true and Lawfull Attorney for mee and in my name & to my use To aske Demand sue for Leavy Recover and Receive of all and Every pson and psons whatsoever w.thin the said province of Maryland All and every such Debts dues Duties Tobacco sume and sumes of money goods and Marchandizes as are now due oweing Comeing or belonging unto me by any manner of waies whatsoever Giveing and granting unto my s.d Attorney my full and whole power and authority in and about the premisses by vertue of these p.rsents And upon Receipt of any such debts dues tobacco sume or sumes of money goods or Marchandizes aforesaid Acquittances or other discharges for mee and in my name to make seale and deliver And all and Every other Act and Acts thing and things Device and devices in the Lawe whatsoever needfull and necessary to bee done in or about the p.rmisses for the Recovery of any such debts Dues sume and sumes of money tobacco goods or Marchandizes as aforesaid for mee and in my name to doe Execute and pforme as fully largely & Amply in Every Respect to all Intents and purposes as I my selfe might or Could do If I were personally p.rsent Rattifieing and all owing firme and stable all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall Lawfully doe or cause to bee done in or about the Execution of the same by vertue of these presents In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the third day of May in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred seaventy & nine Test Nic Painter Jo Raven (sealed) On the back side of the aforegoing L.re of Attorney was thus written viz Aprill 22.th The w.thin written L.re of Attorney was then proved by the oath of Nicholas 1680 Painter witnesse hereunto To bee the Act and deed of the w.thin named Jn.o Raven Philip Calvert |
