       That they Could Extend or apprize to Satisfie the Said debt which said Manno.r
       Basford with all its Rights Jurisdictions and perquisits for the One Moyety of all the Land
       and Tenements of the Aforesaid Thomas Gerard Esq.r Vallued as aforesaid I the
       aforesaid Sheriffe doe Cause to be Delivered unto Thomas Gerard Gentl in the Writt
       aforesaid named To be held unto him and his Assignes according to the form of
       the Statute in this Case made and provided as his free lands and Tenements untill
       his Debt of Thirty Five Thousand Six hundred and Eight pounds of Tobacco for the
       damages in the Writt aforesaid Mentioned be fully Leavyed and Satisfied as in the said
       writt Aforesaid it is Comanded & Required together with Interest for forbearance and all other
       his Necessary Charges in and about the Same Such as the Court Shall thinke fitt to Allow of
       In Testimony whereof as well I the Sheriffe aforesaid as the Jurors above named to this
       Inquisition have Interchangeably sett Our hands and Seales the day place and yeare first
       above written Clement Hill sealed The marke of John Goldsmith Sealed John Smithe Sealed
       The marke of Thomas Carvile sealed The marke of John Hilton Sealed Henry Poulter Sealed
       the marke of Thomas Reeves sealed John Hoskins sealed the marke of John Gee sealed
       the marke of John Bullock sealed the marke of Vincent Mausell sealed the Marke
       of Robert Atkyns Sealed the marke of Edward Turner sealed On the backside of which
       Inquisition was Endorsed as followeth (Viz.t) Memorandum that quiet & peaceable
       possession of the lands and Tenements of the Manno.r of Basford was Given & delivered
       by Clement Hill within Mentioned to Thomas Gerard within mentioned by Virtue
       of A writt from the Lord Propry to him the said Clement Hill directed and According
       to the forme of A Statute in that case made and provided To be held to him the said
       Thomas Gerard or his Assignes according to the Forme and Effect of the within written
       Inquisition Possession as before Given the third day of November Anno One Thousand six
       hundred seaventy & six Testes The marke of John Goldsmith The Marke of John Hilton
       The marke of John Gee Afterwards to witt the second day of December in the second yeare
       of his Lordpps Dominion Annoq Domini One Thousand Six hundred Seaventy and Six which
       granted by the Court here that the said Thomas Gerard held the said Manno.r of Basford in
       his Freehold to him and his Assignes dureing the Terme of Forty yeares fully to be Compleat
       and Ended for his Costs and Damages aforesaid as by the Records of the same Provincial Court
       in the Secretaryes office of this province Remaining Relation being thereunto had it doth and
       may appeare Now This Indenture further Witnesseth that the said Thomas Gerard Gentl for
       and in Consideracon of the full and Just Sume of Twenty Thousand pounds of Tobacco
       to him the Said Thomas Gerard by the said Thomas Notley in hand payd before the
       Ensealing and Delivery of these p.rsents the Receipt whereof the Said Thomas
       Gerard doth hereby Acknowledge And thereof And of Every part and parcell
       thereof the Said Thomas Notley his Exec.rs Adm.rs and Assignes doth Acquit Exonerate
       and Discharge by these p.rsents And for Divers other Good Causes & Consideracons
       him hereunto Especially moveing Hath Granted Assigned and Sett Over and by these
       p.rsents doth Grant Assigne and Sett Over unto the said Thomas Notley his heyres Exec.rs
       Adm.rs and Assignes All the Estate Right Title Interest and Demand whatsoever untill
       he the Said Thomas Gerard hath by Reason of the Extent aforesaid of in and to the
       said Manno.r of Basford with the Appurtenances And of in and to Every part & parcell
       thereof And of in and to all and Singuler Messuages lands Tenements Meadows Leases  
       Pastures Feedings Rents Reversions Services and Hereditaments with the appurtenances
       Soe Extended and Delivered in Execution as aforesaid Dureing the Terme of Forty [illegible]
       Yeares aforesaid fully to be Compleated and Ended according to the Judgement of the
       Provinciall Court aforesaid And the said Thomas Gerard for himselfe his heyres Exec.rs
       and Adm.rs doth Covenant promise and Grant to and with the said Thomas Notley his
       heyres Exec.rs Adm.rs and Assignes And Every of them by these p.rsents the [illegible]
       said Thomas Gerard his heires Exec.rs and Adm.rs at any time or times hereafter [illegible]
       doe any Act or Acts thing or Things Whereby the said Extent or the Estate Title or Interest
       of the said Thomas Notley his heyres Exec.rs Adm.rs or Assignes or any of the [illegible]
