97 106 Grace of God King of England Scotland France & Ireland defender of the faith &c locus sigilli Wagstaffe On the back side of the aforegoing instrument was written Viz.t I doe hereby declare I am very well satisfied that the within mentioned Thomas Glavin of Livington in the County of Hampton Gentl is the Eldest Brother of Bartholomew Glavin Chirurgeon Deceased in Maryland and that he is heyre to what estate the said Bartholomew might loane in Maryland Given under my hand this thirtyeth of July One thousand six hundred seaventy Eight Ch Baltemore To all Christian People to whome these p.rsents shall come I Thomas Glavin of Livington in the County of Southampton in the Kingdome of England Gent Elder Brother and heire of Bartholomew Glavin of Maryland Chirurgeon Deceased send Greeting in our Lord God everlasting Know yee that I the said Thomas Glavin for divers good causes and consideracons me heareunto especially moveing Have made constituted Ordeined authorized appointed and in my place by these p.rsents have put the Right Hon.ble Charles Lord Baron of Baltemore Proprietor of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon in America my true sufficient and Lawfull Attorney As well to enter for me and in my name into all and singular the messuages Tenements lands hereditaments and other estate whatsoever either reall or personall which my said Brother Bartholomew Glavin dyed possessed or seised of and interstred in in Maryland or elsewhere in America As also to aske gather levie recover and receive for me and in my name and to my use of and from all and every person and psons whatsoever All such Rents Issues and profitts of the premisses as was due and oweing to my said brother or which hath accrued or become ^one^ unto me as hereunto him since his decease And also giveing and by these p.rsents granting unto my said Attorney full power and authority to Sell Lease Demise or otherwise dispose of the said Lands & premisses or any part or parcell thereof to such person or persons and for such estate or estates as shall to my said Attorney seeme most advantageous and beneficiall for me And also for me and in my name to make seale and deliver as my sufficient Deed or Deeds in the Law All and singular such Indentures Leases Grants Deeds Releases Acquittances as well genall as speciall and other writeing whatsoever ^as^ my said Attorney shall thinke requisite touching and concerning the premisses or any of them or otherwise And further any Attorney or Attorneys in any matter cause or thing relateing to the premisses under him or me to subscribe substitute depute make and appoint and at the liberty and pleasure of my said Attorney the same to Revoake And finally for me and in my name to compound for follow speed execute accomplish and finish all and every suites and Controversies hereafter to be moved betweene me and any other person or persons whatsoever touching or concerning the premisses or any part or parcell thereof as fully and full absolutely as I might should or ought Lawfully ^to^ doe if I were then and there personally present And I doe hereby Covenant to hold firme and stable whatsoever my said Attorney shall doe or cause or procure to be done for me and in my name in and about the premisses or any of them by virtue of these p.rsents In wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Fourth day of October in the thirtieth yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the Grace of God ^of^ England Scotland France and Ireland Defend.t of the Faith &c Annoq Domini 1678 Sealed and deliver in the Thomas Glavin sealed p.rsence of Francis Poole Henry Lowe Richard Birke M.r Robert Carvile When you draw M.r Bakers Pattents for the Land belonging to the Court house and the halfacre more lett it bee for Nineteen Yeares hee paying yearly a bushell of English Wheat To The Lord Proprietary or his assignes for the same I am Mattapany March 4.th Yo.r Friend and Serv.t Thomas Notley 1677 I am Contented That John Baker have five and Twenty Years in the Land above June y.e 20.th 1678 Tho Notley To M.r Rob.t Carvile These |
