the Constitution of Maryland setting forth in detail the
total membership of each House, the representation from
each Legislative District, and the manner of determining
the boundaries of the several Legislative Districts; and
WHEREAS, These four sections of the Constitution
were amended in 1972 and prevail over the former and now
obsolete provisions in the several specified sections of
Article 40 of the Annotated Code; and
WHEREAS, It is desirable to repeal these obsolete
and outmoded sections in order to clarify and correct the
laws concerning apportionment, districts, and membership
in the General Assembly of Maryland; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 42, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D, and 42E
of Article 40 — General Assembly, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)
be and they are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning
Commercial Law Article
FOR the purpose of adding a new article to the Annotated
Code of Maryland, to be designated and known as the
"Commercial Law Article," to revise, restate, and
recodify the laws of this State relating and
pertaining to commercial and related transactions
and activities, in general, including matters
relating to personal property and fixtures,
contracts, negotiable and non-negotiable
instruments, letters of credit, documents of title
to goods, investment securities, lien instruments or
agreements, sales of goods, commercial paper, bank
deposits and collections, documentary letters of
credit, bulk transfers, warehouse receipts, bills of
