LAWS OF MARYLAND

(Ch. 47

of the House of Delegates of Maryland. The respective
appointments shall be made by the President of the Senate
and the Speaker of the House of Delegates, who jointly
shall designate the chairman and vice—chairman of the
Committee. The respective appointees shall serve at the
pleasure of the President of the Senate and the Speaker
of the House of Delegates. [The Committee shall be in
existence until July 1, 1975, at which time it shall
terminate, unless extended by the General Assembly.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

General Assembly — Repeal of obsolete
laws concerning districts and apportionment

FOR the purpose of repealing a series of obsolete and
outmoded laws concerning apportionment, districts,
and membership in the two Houses of the General
Assembly of Maryland.

Section 42, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D, and 42E

Preamble

WHEREAS, In the second Special Session of the
General Assembly of Maryland held in the year 1962 and in
the Special Session of the General Assembly held in the
year 1965, a series of laws was enacted generally
relating to apportionment, districts, and membership for
the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, These sections now are completely obsolete
and outmoded, stemming particularly from the present
provisions of Sections 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Article III of
