AN ACT to repeal Article 18, Section 7, of the
Public Local Laws for Prince George's County, Everstine
1963 Edition, entitled "Prevailing wage rates", and to
repeal General Resolution No. 25-1967, entitled
"Prevailing Wage Ordinance" and to enact in place
thereof, a new Section 7 of said Article 18, entitled
"Prevailing Hours and Wage Rates on Public Works¹,
providing for the appointment and composition of a Wage
Determination Board empowered to adopt, establish,
repeal, modify, change or amend, from time to time,
schedules of prevailing hourly rates of wages to be paid
to workmen and apprentices employed on certain public
works and setting forth the functions and duties of said
Board, the method for determining such wage rates and for
reconsideration of the same; authorizing the Board to
promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate the
purposes of this Act and to make the final determination
with regard to restitution and liquidate damages for
violations of certain provisions; reserving to employees
a right of action for wages; requiring the payment of
such prevailing wages and the inclusion in certain
contracts made by Prince George's County of such
schedules of prevailing wages; providing for the use of
competent workmen and apprentices, the imposition of
liquidated damages for violations of certain provisions,
the maintenance of certain records by contractors and
sub—contractors, the submission of payrolls, the
enforcement of the provisions of the act, and for the
withholding of funds from contractors and sub—contractors
under certain conditions; establishing regular and
overtime hours of work; defining certain terms; excluding
high school students registered in work study programs
approved by the Prince George's County Board of
Education; and providing generally for a system of
establishing prevailing wages and hours for certain
contractors and sub—contractors performing work for the
County government or funded by it.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED by the County Council of
Prince George's County, Maryland, that Article 18,
Section 7, of the Code of Ordinances for Prince George's
County, Everstine 1963 Edition, entitled "Prevailing wage
rates" and General Resolution No. 25—1967, entitled
