MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Chairperson shall be designated by the members of the
Retirement Hearing Board annually each July 1.

SECTION X. Section 49 (a), title "Composition" is
hereby amended to read as follows:

(a) Composition. For each disability
retirement application, the Retirement Hearing Board
shall designate a Medical Review Committee composed of
three physicians not eligible to participate in the
Retirement System who are licensed to practice in the
State of Maryland. At least two members of the Medical
Review Committee must be specialists in the particular
field of medicine relating to each application for
disability retirement.

SECTION XI. Sections 52 (a), title "Annual report
to County Council" and 52 (b), title "Annual Report of
member contributions and credited interest", are hereby
amended to read as follows:

(a)    Annual report. The Chief Administrative
Officer shall submit to the County Council, County
Executive and the County Personnel Board by the second
week of February each year an annual report on the status
of the retirement system for the preceding fiscal year.
Copies of this report shall be available to all
interested County officials, each member of the
retirement system, and the public.

(b)    Annual Report of member contributions
and credited interest.

The Chief Administrative Officer shall supply to each
member by December 1st of each year a report on the
member's contributions with credited interest as of June
30th of the preceding fiscal year.

SECTION XII. Section 54, title "Information and
Proofs", is hereby amended to read as follows:

The County Personnel Board and Retirement Hearing
Board shall have the power to require any officer, board
or commission of the County to furnish it, without cost,
certified copies of any records and papers in their
official custody, and to require the attendance of
witnesses and the production of papers under summons,
subpoena or other process, when considered necessary for
the proper administration and enforcement of this Article
or of the regulations adopted pursuant thereto. For this
purpose, any member of the County Personnel Board and
Retirement Hearing Board shall have the right to
administer oaths to such witnesses.
