SECTION II. Section 36(b), title "Coverage" is
hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) Coverage. The primary purpose of this
Retirement System is to provide a pension and other
benefits for qualified full-time and qualified part-time
paid employees of the County, the Montgomery County
Employees Federal Credit Union, agencies supported or
financed in whole or in part by taxes levied by the
County Council, agencies supported by bond issues
underwritten by the County, and political subdivisions of
Montgomery County. Any agency or political subdivision
desiring coverage for its employees may make a written
request to the County Personnel Board for approval. No
liability shall accrue to Montgomery County by the
inclusion of other than County employees. Each
participating agency or political subdivision shall be
fully responsible for the cost of coverage for its
employees and any necessary costs for administrative
services provided.
SECTION III. Sections 37(c), title "Full-time
employees entering service after August 15, 1965", 37(d),
title "Part-time employees entering service after August
15, 1965", 37(e), title "Employees not eligible for
membership for medical reasons", 37(j), title "Membership
Groups and Eligibility", and 37(m), title "Entrance age
for employees entering the County service during the
period of August 15, 1965 through the date of enactment
of this article", are hereby amended to read as follows:
(c) Full-time employees entering service after
August 15, 1965. Any full-time paid employee who enters
the service of the County or participating agency after
august 15, 1965 shall become a member as a condition of
employment if the following requirements are met;
(1) the employee has not reached age
fifty-five.
(2) the employee waives on a form prescribed
by the County Personnel Board all rights of membership
under any other retirement system supported in whole or
in part by the State of Maryland or any political
subdivision thereof, including Montgomery County;
(3) the employee fully meets the medical
standards established by the Chief Administrative Officer
after taking a physical examination administered by the
Medical Examiner.
