COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

Bill No. 37-73

AN ACT to provide for a real property tax credit, equal
to the tax credit allowed the aged in Baltimore
County, to homeowners who are totally disabled and
are receiving disability income under either the
social security laws, a railroad retirement system
or the Federal government, by repealing and
re—enacting with amendments Section 11—43(b) of the
Baltimore County Code, 1968 (1971 Cumulative
Supplement) title "Finance and Taxation", Article IV.
Property Taxes and Tax Sales, Division 2. Annual and
Semiannual Levy.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, that Section 11-43(b) of the
Baltimore County Code, 1968 (1971 Cumulative Supplement)
title "Finance and Taxation", Article 1V. Property Taxes
and Tax Sales, Division 2. Annual and Semiannual Levy, be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:

Section 11—43 Real property tax credit for aged AND
DISABLED.

(b) Except as hereinafter provided, or as provided
by sections 12D, 12F and 49C of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957, AS AMENDED, a homeowner
reaching the age of sixty—five years prior to July 1 of
any year, OR WHO IS TOTALLY DISABLED AND IS RECEIVING A
DISABILITY INCOME, UNDER EITHER THE SOCIAL SECURITY LAWS,
A RAILROAD RETIREMENT SYSTEM OR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,
shall be entitled to such credit.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure affecting
the public health, safety or welfare, and having been
passed by the affirmative vote of five members of the
County Council, the same shall take effect from the date
of its enactment.
