OF THE OFFICE TO WHICH HE WAS ELECTED, UNLESS REPLACED BY
ANOTHER COMMISSIONER TO SERVE FOR A PART OF THE TERM.
C. COMPENSATION. THE MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING
COMMISSION MAY BE COMPENSATED AS THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEEM APPROPRIATE.
D. PROCEDURE. THE COMMISSION SHALL ELECT A
CHAIRMAN FROM ONE OF THE APPOINTED MEMBERS AND CREATE AND
FILL SUCH OTHER OF ITS OFFICES AS IT MAY DETERMINE. THE
TERM OF THE CHAIRMAN SHALL BE ONE YEAR WITH ELIGIBILITY
FOR RE-ELECTION. THE COMMISSION SHALL HOLD AT LEAST ONE
REGULAR MEETING EACH MONTH. IT SHALL ADOPT RULES FOR THE
TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS AND SHALL KEEP A RECORD OF ITS
RESOLUTIONS, TRANSACTIONS, FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS,
WHICH RECORDS SHALL BE A PUBLIC RECORD.
E. EMPLOYEES AND EXPENDITURES. THE COMMISSION
MAY APPOINT SUCH EMPLOYEES AS IT MAY DEEM NECESSARY TO
ITS WORK, AND MAY ALSO CONTRACT WITH PLANNERS, ENGINEERS,
ARCHITECTS, AND OTHER CONSULTANTS FOR SUCH SERVICES AS IT
MAY REQUIRE. THE EXPENDITURES OF THE COMMISSION,
EXCLUSIVE OF GIFTS, SHALL BE UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS AND
WITHIN THE AMOUNTS APPROPRIATED FOR THE PURPOSE BY THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KENT COUNTY.
F. POWERS AND DUTIES. THE COMMISSION SHALL HAVE
THE POWERS AND DUTIES AS NOW OR HEREAFTER PROVIDED FOR IN
ARTICLE 66B OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1957
EDITION, AS AMENDED) AND THE LAWS OF KENT COUNTY,
MARYLAND.
SECTION II. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act is hereby declared to be an Emergency Measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health, safety and welfare of the County, and having been
passed by a yea vote supported by two—thirds of the
members of The Board of County Commissioners, the same
shall take effect from the day of passage.
