any year.

42—9. Effect of partial invalidity

If any provision or portion of this Code be declared
invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity shall not affect the remainder of the Code.

42—10. Penalties in general

Any person violating any provision of this code for
which no specific has been provided shall, upon
conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more
than one hundred dollars ($100) or by imprisonment in
such place of confinement as may be provided by law, not
exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both fine and
imprisonment, in the discretion of the court hearing the
case. Imprisonment in default of fine and costs shall be
regulated by Section 4 of Article 38 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland (19 57 Edition) and any
amendments thereof.

RESOLUTION 74-R-24
CHARTER CHANGE

WHEREAS the people of the Town of Riverdale voted at
a special election in January 1974 to make the office of
Treasurer appointive and

WHEREAS, now, there are only three Councilmen to be
voted upon in that year in which we formerly elected the
Treasurer and

WHEREAS it appears to be an unnecessary expenditure
of public funds to hold elections which do not involve
all the townspeople

HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Charter
shall be amended as follows:

63—5.2. Councilmen

(a) There shall be one Councilman elected from
each of the six Wards.
