the contents of this Resolution shall be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Rising
Sun, once in each of the weeks of January 16, 23, 30 and
February 6, 1974.

Section 7. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon
as the charter amendment hereby enacted shall become
effective, either as herein provided or following a
referendum, the Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun
shall send separately, by Registered Mail, to the
Secretary of the State of Maryland, and to the Department
of Legislative Reference, to the Clerk of the Court for
Cecil County, and to the Clerk or similar official
thereof with the Director of the Hall of Records, the
following information concerning the charter amendment:
(1) The Complete text of Section 31—9, subsection (a) of
the charter of the Town of Rising Sun as under the Code
of Cecil County, Maryland, adopted January 25, 1971,
under Chapter 31 of said Code which incorporates the
charter of the Town of Rising Sun by reference; (2) the
date of the referendum election, if any, held with
respect thereto; (3) the number of votes cast for and
against the question containing the charter amendment
whether by the Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun or
in a referendum; (4) the effective date of the charter
amendment; and (5) a complete description of the original
boundaries of the municipality and a complete description
of the new boundaries of the area hereby annexed.

The charter amendment enacted by the aforegoing
Resolution becomes effective on the 7th day of April,
1974.

Introduced to the Commissioners of the Town of
Rising Sun this 8th day of January, 1974, and directed to
be published in accordance with applicable law.

CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 11

RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Commissioners of the
Town of Rising Sun, adopted pursuant to the authority of
Article XIE of the Constitution of Maryland, and Section
19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), 1966 Replacement Volume, entitled
"Corporations—Municipal", for the enlargement of the
corporate boundaries of said town by the annexation of
certain land contiguous to and adjoining the existing
corporate area by amending the provisions of the Cecil
County Code, Chapter 31, which incorporates the Charter
of the Town of Rising Sun, Section 31-9, entitled
