MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

AND RUNNING THENCE, LEAVING U.S. ROUTE NO. 1 AND BINDING
ON SAID VANDYKE LAND AND BINDING ON OR NEAR A WIRE
FENCELINE THE FOLLOWING TWO COURSES AND DISTANCES: (1)
SOUTH 06 DEGREES 30 MINUTES 11 SECONDS EAST 378.14 FEET
TO A STONE; AND (2) SOUTH 06 DEGREES 30 MINUTES 11
SECONDS EAST 3399.18 FEET TO A POINT IN THE EXISTING
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF RISING SUN AFORESAID;
THENCE LEAVING SAID VANDYKE LAND AND RUNNING THROUGH AND
ACROSS LAND OF STEPHEN AND BINDING ON THE EXISTING
CORPORATE LIMITS OF RISING SUN THE FOLLOWING TWO COURSES
AND DISTANCES: (1) NORTH 65 DEGREES 40 MINUTES 00 SECONDS
WEST 763.97 FEET TO A GRANITE STONE IN THE TOWN BOUNDARY
LINE; AND (2) NORTH 66 DEGREES 45 MINUTES 39 SECONDS WEST
1206.30 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING; CONTAINING 64.137
ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH A SURVEY
MADE BY FREDERICK WARD ASSOCIATES, INC., ON NOVEMBER 14,
1973.

(4) [and] The property within said limits AS
SET FORTH ABOVE IN SUBPARAGRAPHS (1), (2) AND (3) shall
be subject to such taxes and assessments as may be deemed
necessary by said Commissioners, to support and maintain
the expenses that may be incurred in the improvement of
said [village] TOWN.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the persons and
property included within the aforementioned boundaries
and taxable limits as set forth above in subparagraph (3)
of Section 31—9, subsection (a) of the Charter of Rising
Sun, the area hereby annexed into the Town of Rising Sun,
shall be subject to all assessments for Town taxes, and
subject to all of the provisions of the charter, laws and
ordinances heretofore enacted or those subsequently
enacted by the Town of Rising Sun and in addition to all
of the Public Local Laws or Public General Laws
heretofore or subsequently passed by the Maryland
Legislature on behalf of the Town of Rising Sun.

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of
Commissioner of the Town of Rising Sun will hold a public
meeting in regard to the enactment of this Resolution on
February 21, 1974, in the Town Hall of the Town of Rising
Sun, Rising Sun, Maryland, at 8:00 p.m.

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of
adoption of this Resolution is February 21, 1974 and the
amendment to the charter of the Town of Rising Sun by the
Commissioners of Rising Sun hereby proposed by this
enactment shall become effective forty—five (45) days
after final enactment unless a proper petition for a
referendum hereon shall be filed as permitted by law,
provided a complete and exact copy of this Resolution
shall be posted in the Town Hall of Rising Sun until
April 7, 1974; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that public notice of
