OCEAN CITY

Code Section C—401) of the municipal Charter of the Town
of Ocean City, Maryland by eliminating from said Section
of said Charter the matter hereinafter enclosed in double
parentheses, and by adding to said Section of said
Charter the new matter hereinafter underscored as
follows:

"C—401 Qualifications for election as Mayor or City
Councilmen (173)

Any person to qualify as a candidate for election as
Mayor of Ocean City or as a City Councilman of Ocean City
must be:

A.   Qualified as a voter in town elections in
accordance with the provisions of §C—403 hereof.

B.  One who, for [one (1) year] FOUR (4) MONTHS next
preceding the election has been and is, at the time of
the election a resident of, AND DOMICILED IN, the Tenth
OR FIFTH Election District of Worcester County, Maryland.

[C. One who, for one (1) year next preceding the
election has been and is, at the time of the election,
assessed on the tax books of said town with, and is, the
owner of, real or personal property of the assessed value
of at least five thousand dollars ($5,000.) upon which
property taxes must have been paid for the next preceding
year; or one who, for one (1) year next preceding the
election, has been and is, at the time of the election,
the owner of part of the capital stock of any body
corporate, which body corporate, has been for at least
one (1) year next preceding the election, and at the time
of the election is assessed with, and is the owner of,
real or personal property on the tax books of said town
of the value of more than five thousand dollars
($5,000.), provided, however, the share or shares of such
person, in proportion to all the shares of stock that
have been outstanding for a least one (1) year preceding
said election, represent a proportionate interest in said
assessed property amounting to at least five thousand
dollars ($5,000.), according to the assessed value of
such property.]"

The Section (173) (now codified as Code Section
C—401) as amended shall real as follows:

"C—401 Qualifications for election as Mayor or City
Councilman. (173)

Any person to qualify as a candidate for election as
Mayor of Ocean City or as a City Councilman of Ocean City
