A RESOLUTION TO REVISE THE CHARTER
FOR THE TOWN OF MILLINGTON

Resolution of the Mayor and Council for the Town of
Millington, Maryland, adopted pursuant to the authority
of Article 23A, section 13, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended, entitled "Municipal
Corporations", to revise and amend the charter of
Millington, the said amendments to make the following
changes:

Change the residency requirements of
Councilmen from three years to six
months.

To delete the section precluding
Councilmen from running for more than
three consecutive terms.

Lowering the voting age to eighteen.

Changing the voter residency requirement
from one year to six months.

Changing the registration day from the
second Saturday of February to the
second Saturday of September.

Shortening the number of hours required
to keep the polls open in the event of
an uncontested election.

Creating the post
Clerk—Treasurer.

Changing the fiscal year of the Town
from January through December to July
through June.

Raising the interest rate due on overdue
taxes from one half of one percent to
two thirds of one percent for each month
or fraction of a month until paid.
