GLENARDEN
hereby enacted shall become effective, either as herein
provided or by referendum, the Mayor shall send
separately and by registered mail, to the Secretary of
State and the Department of Legislative Reference of
Maryland (1) a certified copy of the text of this
Resolution as hereby enacted, (2) the date of referendum,
if any,, (3) the number of votes cast for or against the
Charter Amendment either in the legislative body or in a
referendum, and (4) the effective date if the Charter is
attended.
EFFECTIVE June 5, 1974.
RESOLUTION NO. 21
To amend Section 46—Borrowing— of the Charter of the
Town of Glenarden — To Provide For Short Term Loans Not
to Exceed One Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Dollars.
(A Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Glenarden,
Maryland to Amend Section 46 of the Charter of the Town
of Glenarden by adding a new subsection (6) to Authorize
Short Term Loans)
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 11 to 18, inclusive,
of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition as amended), the Mayor and Council of Glenarden
has authority to amend its said Charter in the
particulars hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution is adopted to coniform with
the procedure for the amendment of charters of municipal
corporations prescribed in said Section 11 to 18,
inclusive, of Article 23A;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF GLENARDEN, MARYLAND,
Section 1. That Section 46 of the Charter of the
Town of Glenarden be and the same is hereby amended by
adding of a new subsection 46 (6) to follow immediately
the existing subsection 46 (5) and to read as follows:
Section 46. SHORT TERM LOANS
(6) THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF GLENARDEN, WHENEVER
IN ITS OPINION, IT IS NECESSARY FOR CARRYING OUT OF
MUNICIPAL PURPOSES OF THE TOWN OF GLENARDEN, SHALL HAVE
THE POWER TO BORROW FROM TIME TO TIME UPON THE CREDIT OF
