MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
THE COMMISSIONERS OF GALESTOWN BY REPEALING SECTION 275
"FINES AND FORFEITURES" OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS
OF DORCHESTER COUNTY (1961 EDITION), SAID CODE BEING
ARTICLE 10 OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LAWS OF MARYLAND, TITLE
"DORCHESTER COUNTY", SUBTITLE "GALESTOWN", REPEALING
REFERENCE TO FINES AND FORFEITURES FOR VIOLATION OF CITY
ORDINANCES.
SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of
Galestown that section 275 of the Charter of said
Municipal Corporation titled Fines and Forfeitures, be,
and the same is hereby, repealed.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution
shall become effective the 29th day of March, 1974.
ORDAINED AND PASSED by the Commissioners of
Galestown this 4th day of February, 1974.

RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF GALESTOWN ADOPTED
PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF ARTICLE III OF THE
CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND AND SECTION 13 OF ARTICLE 23A OF
THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1971 REPLACEMENT VOLUME)
TITLED "CORPORATIONS-MUNICIPAL" TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF
THE COMMISSIONERS OF GALESTOWN BY REPEALING AND
REENACTING WITH AMENDMENTS SECTION 278 "BAILIFF;
APPOINTMENT, POWERS" OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF
DORCHESTER COUNTY (1961 EDITION), SAID CODE BEING ARTICLE
10 OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LAWS OF MARYLAND, TITLE
"DORCHESTER COUNTY", SUBTITLE "GALESTOWN", REMOVING THE
REFERENCE TO POWERS OF A CONSTABLE.
SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of
Galestown that the Charter of said municipal corporation
be, and the same is, hereby amended by repealing and
reenacting said Section 278 to read as follows:
278. Bailiff; appointment, powers.
The said Commissioners, or a majority of them, shall
have full power and authority annually to appoint a
bailiff, whose duty it shall be to preserve the peace and
good order of said town, and to perform such other duties
as may be assigned him by said Commissioners, or a
majority of them [; and for this purpose, he is hereby
vested with the same power and authority as any constable
may now have under the laws of this State].
