CHARTER AMENDMENT 2-74-2

RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF GALESTOWN ADOPTED
PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF ARTICLE III OF THE
CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND AND SECTION 13 OF ARTICLE 23A OF
THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1971 REPLACEMENT VOLUME)
TITLED "CORPORATIONS-MUNICIPAL" TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF
THE COMMISSIONERS OF GALESTOWN BY REPEALING AND
REENACTING WITH AMENDMENTS SECTION 270 "ELECTIONS;
PROCEDURE" OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF DORCHESTER
COUNTY (1961 EDITION), SAID CODE BEING ARTICLE 10 OF THE
CODE OF PUBLIC LAWS OF MARYLAND; TITLE "DORCHESTER
COUNTY", SUBTITLE "GALESTOWN", REMOVING CERTAIN OBSOLETE
LANGUAGE PERTAINING TO SENDING ELECTIONS REPORTS TO THE
CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT.

SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of
Galestown that the Charter of said municipal corporation
be, and the same is , hereby amended by repealing and
reenacting said Section 270 to read as follows:

270. Elections; procedure.

The Commissioners of Galestown shall appoint by
writing under their hands and seals, three judges to hold
the first election on the first Monday in June, 1953, who
shall keep the polls open from 2 o'clock p.m. until 7
o'clock p.m. and shall conduct the said election in the
same manner in which judges of elections are now directed
to conduct an election for Delegates to the General
Assembly as far as may be consistent with the provisions
of this sub—title, and the said judges shall make
returns, under their hands and seals, of the persons
elected, to the Clerk of the Commissioners of Galestown
[, and to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Dorchester
County to be kept by him].

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution
shall become effective the 29th day of March, 1974.

ORDAINED AND PASSED by the Commissioners of
Galestown this Fourth day of February, 1974.
