FREDERICK

OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHARTER OR OF ANY ORDINANCES,
RULES OR REGULATIONS FORMULATED HEREUNDER, A CONVICTION
FOR ONE OFFENSE SHALL NOT BE A BAR TO A CONVICTION FOR A
CONTINUATION Of THE OFFENSE SUBSEQUENT TO THE FIRST OR
ANY SUCCEEDING CONVICTION.

SECTION II: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of
passage of this Resolution shall be June 20, 1974, and
the amendment to the Charter of the City of Frederick,
hereby enacted, shall become effective on August 9,
1974, unless a proper petition for a referendum herein
shall be filed as provided by Section 13 of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and provided a
complete and exact copy of this Resolution shall be
continuously posted at City Hall, Frederick, Maryland,
until August 9, 1974, and further provided that a fair
summary of the proposed amendment shall be published in
the News—Post, a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Frederick, once in each of the weeks of June 23,
1974, June 30, 1974, July 7, 1974 and July 14, 1974; and
all sections of the Charter or ordinances or parts of
sections of the Charter or ordinances inconsistent with
the provisions of this Resolution be and the same are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SECTION III: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED
that the Mayor of the City of Frederick shall send
separately by registered mail to the Secretary of the
State of Maryland and the Department of Legislative
Reference the complete text hereof; the date of
referendum election, if any; the number of votes cast for
and against the question containing the Charter
amendment, whether in the legislative body or in a
referendum and effective date of the charter amendment.

RESOLUTION 9-74

A RESOLUTION TO AMEND ARTICLE VI, REGISTRATIONS,
NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS, SECTION 74-A, REFERENDA
OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK AS THE SAME
WAS ADOPTED JULY 7, 1966.

SECTION I: BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY
THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN of the City of Frederick
that Section 74—A, Article VI of the Charter of the City
of Frederick, Maryland, be repealed and re—enacted as
follows:
