BENEFICIAL TO THE CITY, SUBJECT TO THE
LIMITATIONS AND PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 23 OF
THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND. NO FRANCHISE
SHALL BE GRANTED FOR A LONGER PERIOD THAN
FIFTY, (50) YEARS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
City of College Park, Maryland, that the
aforegoing proposed amendment shall be posted
at the Municipal Building, 1500 Knox Road,
College Park, Maryland, for a period of at
least forty days following its adoption and
shall further be published in the Prince
George's Post once in each of four successive
weeks before the 5th day of May, 1974.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
City of College Park, Maryland, that the
proposed amendment will come and be considered
part of the municipal charter of the City of
College Park on the 15th day of May, 1974,
unless a petition is filed pursuant to Article
23A, Section 13 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, said
petition to be filed on or before the 5th day
of May, 1974.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
City of College Park that the foregoing
Resolution be and the same is hereby adopted
this 26th day of March, 1974.
RESOLUTION 74-CR-2
A resolution to amend Article XI of the Charter of
the City of College Park, entitled Powers of Mayor and
Council, to add a section 32B, entitled Condemnation, to
explicitly set forth the city's power of condemnation.
WHEREAS, the City of College Park is desirous of
setting forth explicitly its power of condemnation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Article XI,
entitled Powers of Mayor and Council, is hereby amended
to add a Section 32B, entitled Condemnation, as follows,
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any section or
sections of the existing charter which are inconsistent
with foregoing amendment are hereby repealed:
