BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Managers of Chevy
Chase Village on this 11th day of February, 1974, that
Section 76 of the Chevy Chase Village Charter shall be
amended so that the final paragraph of Section 76 reading
as follows [Qualified Voter or Voters shall mean a person
who is a registered and qualified voter of the State of
Maryland and has resided within the corporate limits of
Chevy Chase Village for six months next preceding any
election] be amended to read QUALIFIED VOTER OR VOTERS
SHALL MEAN A PERSON WHO IS A REGISTERED AND QUALIFIED
VOTER OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND AND HAS RESIDED WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF CHEVY CHASE VILLAGE FOR THIRTY DAYS
NEXT PRECEDING THE DATE OF THE ELECTION; provided,
however, that this resolution be posted at the Town Hall
for a period of at least forty days following the date of
its adoption and provided further that a summary of this
resolution be published in a newspaper of general
circulation within Chevy Chase Village not less than four
times at equal intervals within a period of at least
forty days after the adoption of this resolution.
This amendment shall become effective following the
compliance with the above—mentioned conditions on the
fiftieth day after its having been passed by the Board.
CHEVY CHASE VILLAGE CHARTER - AMENDMENT
A CHARTER AMENDMENT ENTITLED:
2. An amendment to amend section 78, paragraph (a), of
the Chevy Chase Village Charter so as to require an
individual to be a Village resident for thirty days prior
to the date of the annual meeting rather than six months
and to be a registered and qualified voter of the State
of Maryland in order to be eligible to be elected as a
member of the board of managers or to be entitled to vote
for the board of managers.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Managers of Chevy
Chase Village on this 11th day of February, 1974, that
Section 78, Paragraph (a) of the Chevy Chase Village
Charter shall be amended so that Paragraph (a) of Section
78 reading as follows [On the third Monday in April,
1952, and on the third Monday of April in each following
year or on the second Saturday thereafter as hereinafter
provided for, an election meeting shall be held at which
Board members shall be elected for two years to succeed
those whose terms are at that time expiring, and at which
Board members shall be elected to fill any vacancies that
