CHEVY CHASE SECTION 4

it hereby is deleted and a new Section 9 added, to read
as follows:

SECTION 9. [It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle
on the public parking (the area between the curb or
gutter and the front property line, which is, in most
cases, one (1) foot toward the property from the
sidewalk). In the event of a snow storm or icy road
conditions, or threat of snow or icy conditions, either
day or night, and in the absence of contrary instructions
from the Town Council vehicles shall be parked on the
even house—numbered side of streets in order to
facilitate plowing and sanding operations.]

SECTION 9. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL TO PARK ANY VEHICLE
ON ANY GRASSY AREA BETWEEN THE CURB AND/OR GUTTER AND A
SIDEWALK, OR TO PARK ON ANY SIDEWALK. IN THE EVENT OF A
SNOW STORM OR ICY ROAD CONDITIONS, OR THREAT OF SNOW OR
ICY CONDITIONS, EITHER DAY OR NIGHT, AND IN THE ABSENCE
OF CONTRARY INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE TOWN COUNCIL, OR THEIR
AUTHORIZED AGENT, VEHICLES SHALL BE PARKED ON THE EVEN
HOUSE-NUMBERED SIDE OF STREETS IN ORDER TO FACILITATE
PLOWING AND SANDING OPERATIONS. VIOLATION OF THIS
SECTION SHALL BE PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OF TEN DOLLARS

($10.00). VEHICLES PARKED IN VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION
MAY BE TAKEN INTO POSSESSION BY APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY

(I.E., THE TOWN MANAGER) AND TOWED TO SOME PROPER STORAGE
PLACE AND HELD UNTIL THE FINE AND THE TOWING AND STORAGE
CHARGES INCURRED SHALL HAVE BEEN PAID.

This Ordinance shall become effective upon its
adoption.

CHEVY CHASE VILLAGE CHARTER - AMENDMENT

A CHARTER AMENDMENT ENTITLED:

1. An amendment to amend section 76 of the Chevy Chase
Village Charter so as to require an individual to be a
village resident for thirty days prior to the date of the
election rather than six months and to be a registered
and qualified voter of the state of Maryland in order to
be qualified to vote in village elections.
